Arrow Spring 2008: One of YSL's best?

I was at Nordie's today and found myself completely taken with the entire YSL area. Obviously their buyer concurred- they had devoted WAY more space than usual to YSL bags. So many stunning pieces- the Muse (inluding one in a stunning blue), Muse 2, Majorelle, Downtown, Raspail, etc. They were attracting quite a bit of attention, and I myself badly wanted the patent Y-Mail raspail tote they had

In short: well done, YSL!

Yes, I do think YSL's recent introduction of the Majorelle and Muse Two is generating a lot of buzz and excitement... Plus the Muse, Downtown, and Tribute are still going pretty strong.

Personally, I wasn't crazy about some of YSL's color offerings for spring--for instance, the magenta/fuschia and mint green--although the blue was nice. I am definitely looking forward to the new bags in the new fall colors (like the camel and red Majorelles below).

Cosmopolitan - you always have the greatest YSL sightings! I love these two colors!!! Have fall colors for the Muse come out??? ITA that mint green wasn't YSL's best but I did buy fushia patent Muse and cornflower blue Muse. I'm a fushia kinda gal!

Cosmo, you ARE in love with those two bags...I predict not just the Camel, but BOTH will make it into your closet:)

I wouldn't blame you, those two colors are so much better than anything they have up to now put out in the marjorelle.

I just saw at neiman an ivory leather Marjorelle, not patent, and also a leopard skin (haircalf) one trimmed in white! Gorgeous. Neiman also gave them a grander display than usual. Almost as much space as they give prada, and right up front. SO I think they have high hopes...

Hi Regina07! No, YSL is notoriously slower than other designers to roll out the new fall bags every year. The Majorelles pictured above are available on "presale" at BG with shipment no later than 9/22/08. Soon enough though...

Melissa Ann, you are right that I do adore both of those colors! I'm pretty sure I want to get the Majorelle in the camel. I am hoping that YSL offers other bags in that red, though, because I really like it. I would jump on a Catwalk in that red. Or maybe even the Muse Two.

Cosmopolitan - Did you decide to buy the Majorelle in camel leather?

Yes, when BG posted those Majorelle pics (above) last month, I saw that the camel regular-leather version is a much richer color than the camel patent-leather version. So I'm waiting for the regular-leather bags to come in.
