Default so sad....my white muse was stolen...

i am so sad right now i spent the night at my bf's 2 nights ago and parked outside his house....at about 1 am he went to my car to put my permit inside coz we'd just renewed it. well...at 2 am the door bell rang. while he went to get the door all these thoughts went through my head thinking it had to be bad news. sure enough...it was bad news. it was the police telling us my car got broken into. i'm not sure if they were just patroling the streets or if someone called it in. anyway...i had 3 pairs of designer shoes in there, a balenciaga wallet, a white muse, a red goyard, and a french blue balenciaga. they took my GPS, the muse, the goyard and the french blue.

i know you're probably thinking what the hell all those things were doing in my car....i am in the transition of moving and well the truth is i've done it before and he lives in a really good neighborhood (not so good now...)...nothing bad ever happened and it was just something we wouldn't think about.

so they broke the back window and the passenger window...my windows cost $700, much of it was my deductible. i'll be able to get my GPS paid for by the insurance but i have to check with my mom's homeowner's insurance. i am so upset.......

Why doesn't car insurance cover theft of things in the car? I guess I didn't know that!

Sorry that happened. That stinks!

Theft is covered by auto insurance but not anything unrealated to the car. There are lots of people who don't even have theft or collision coverage but only liability to others. Many people don't have any car insurance.

Good luck with your Homeowners coverage. I would be sick if this happened to me.

fashionpoison, I'm so sorry to hear about the theft and I do hope your or your mom's insurance is able to help with the loss. It stinks that they ended up with such a jackpot from your car. If you can, try to focus on the positive side that it didn't involve you at all and that you and your boyfriend are safe and sound. Purses are replaceable but you guys are not!

oh, and I meant to also say, I would check eBay in the next few weeks for posts of any one of those bags. Look at every one and check each sellers other listings, if they are ALSO selling the others bags (that were stolen). That would be your thief! Unless they give it to a girlfriend or use it, the only way to make any real money on it is on ebay...just a thought!

The same thing happened to me a few years back, but they broke my window and took my Fendi satchel. Later that night, someone called me to say they found the entire bag, with everything inside except for cash and checks, so at least i got the bag back. Check local dumpsters near the scene...you never know, they may have just been looking for cash, and not aware that its a designer bag. Sorry about your bad luck.

i agree. it seems crazy to think that there's intentional "fashion burglars" out there, specifically looking for designer label goods. of course, it also depends on where you live.

I think they'll take anything of value they find and sell it...I don't think they are "looking" for things to sell on eBay, but I think they do if they happen to find something they cannot otherwise "fence" or use. THese are not homeless people doing this to find a few bucks...they know where to get rid of stuff. Sadly it has come to this...
