Can anyone tell me if the smooth black Easy bag has brass or nickel hardware? I don't trust the website but I hope it is right. It doesn't really specify but it does say it has "brass feet". The thing is it also says the Sapphire one has brass feet and I know that the sapphire one has nickel hardware.
Has anyone purchased the smooth black? Also, all the bags online say "available for preorder", does that mean they aren't available now? I plan on calling YSL to ask these questions but it's too early and I'm dying to know. I was hoping one of our knowledgeable ladies would have the answers! Thanks

The bag that I really want is the textured black leather bag (the pebbled/ bubbly one)...
If anyone knows where to get one PLEASE let me know. I have to make a decision quickly because I am going on a trip this week and have decided the easy bag would be the perfect bag to bring. Thanks! |

I will try my hardest to get some pictures up before I leave but this will be difficult. If I can't make it happen I will be sure to post some when I get back or better yet some action shots from Europe!
I am super excited to get this bag. The funny thing is, I wasn't that into it when I saw it in the store, I think it looked too big all stuffed up but the more I see pictures online the more I really love it. It also appears to be a very durrable bag which is what I am looking for. I will be going through many airports, trains etc.. and don't want to have to baby my bag. This is the main reason I went after the bubbly leather. For those of you that have this bag, do you love it? Pros/ cons? Many thanks. (Cosmo- can you change the typo in my title? pretty please.. )

Its done.I don't want to burst your bubble, so to speak, but the bubbly leather is very very soft and a limited number of us have had problems with it, including me on a Besace. If you want a super-durable Easy, I'd recommend: (1) patent, (2) regular smooth leather, and then (3) bubbly leather, in that order. Your bubbly Easy may turn out to be fine--plenty of members had no problems with the bubbly leather, and its possible that YSL has fixed the problem anyway. unfortunately, I'm having problems with my bubbly black Besace |

^LR, I wanted to emphasize again that the problem with the bubbly leather seemed relatively limited--it affected three tPFers including myself, that I can recall, plus there were a few reports of torn leather on another fashion website.

Cosmo- Good to know! I didn't know any of this. It looks so strong and sturdy from the pictures. I will find out tomorrow whether I like it or not. I hope I made the right decision
![]() I despise not being able to hand pick my bags.. the stress from shopping sight unseen is just too much..lol. I'll be sure to give you an update. |

Good luck!
I'm also not 100 percent certain, but I think that the 08 bubbly/pebbled Easys had brassy gold hardware, and then the 09 Easys in patent and smooth leather have the nickel hardware. You can see the differences in the Ref Library: post pics of YSL EASY bags here A few members have described the nickel hardware on the 09 Easys as sort of "light gold" or a silver-gold mix. Here's a discussion on that: post news here about YSL styles/colors for SPRING! (YSL.com update page 12) |

^ Cosmo, I think you are right! I just got off the phone with a SA who confirmed this. The smoother (small/ uniform pebbled) bags have the Nickel hardware and the bubbly/ large pebbled Easy bags have the brassy/ gold.
Off to read up on that link! |
