Default Size match: My new two downtown bags

I just bought my first two YSL large downtown bags in patent ivory and pewter. I love them BOTH. Can't wait for their arrival...however,,,after pondering and pondering...the size of my two bags is 19"W 14"H 9.5"D and I'm 5"4. Do you think they will overwhelming me??? It's just that I'm used to carry big bags and never know what to do with the tiny one. And this is my first spurge thru..online site w/o seeing the real bag. So..I begin to worry now

I am wondering the same thing! I bought the oversize muse and large patent downtown in aqua today. I am 5'3", so, I am worried, too. Did you check out the pictures of Salma Hayek in the celebrity section? She's about our size, and, I think she looks great with the bag. Not that she could look bad, but, I don't think the bag overwhelms her at all!

Wow..you shop at Rue la la too. I remember the aqua one. The color is so lovely. Don't forget to share with me how do you like your new YSLs. I did some search and found some pics of celebs with downtown bags. Is it considered a "Classic" style? You may see from the pictures posted below. You're right some petite celebs look great with this huge bag. At least mine aren't the tall large downtown (16"T). I think yours is the same size as mine. We should be okay I think.

I'm a little over 5'4" and I don't find my Oversize Muse or Large Downtown overwhelming. They obviously are large totes--not handbags by any means. Hope you two enjoy your new YSLs!

I'm 5'3" and I love my Downtown, especially now that I've had it for a year and it's all broken in. In fact, I'm using it today! What's so funny is, now that I'm so used to it, whenever I carry something smaller, it feels weird.

14"H sounds like a Medium Downtown (my Large is 16" tall) so I think you'll be fine. They're oversized totes, so they should look big! Congrats on the purchases!

I THINK is considered a classic style. I am not positive, though. I think the size will be fine!

MOst of us seem to be in the 5'4" range...if you like a big bag, you'll be fine I'm sure...

Mine is fine with me. Yes they are big, but that is why we buy them:)
