Default Question about Muse
Hi everyone,

I have a question about the stichting on the Muse. For those of you who have had the Muse for a couple of years, do you find that the stiching on the front panel comes undone (like you see stray thread coming off the stitch)?

I saw on another post a while ago that you can use clear nail polish to put the strays back in place. However, I want to know if this is a common problem.

Thanks

Although I am a fairly new owner, I have heard this is an issue. It is understandable though as the stitching is merely thread and as your bag rubs against external factors; it would eventually show wear. I think clear nail polish would make an easy fix.

Here's the main thread on this topic, as I'm sure this will end up merged into it:

does this really happen to all YSL Muse bags?

Yes, you can find some stray threads on the decorative stitching with regular use. I just trim them off with small, sharp scissors and then you can very lightly apply either clear nail polish or superglue (using a toothpick to apply) to try and keep them intact. It's not like the threads completely unravel or anything, you'll just see one sticking out here and there or sometimes a little light surface fuzz develops on top of the stitches and can be carefully trimmed off, too.

Just thinking outlound- I wonder if we can *prevent* it by rubbing a candle along it lightly, the candle wax might prevent fraying?

It probably won't work hehe.

I have OS black, worn a lot, threads do not come out but they look a bit messy when you look closely. I am not bothered by it, but if they start coming out, I will take transparent nail polish and glue them with the threads that are still holding. Cheers, vesna
