^Oooo, thanks for posting travelbliss. I've secretly been hoping that they would do the Easy in patent. Don't get me wrong, the bubbly textured leather is pretty on the Easys (and I've got a bubbly Besace). But I just LOVE LOVE LOVE YSL patent, particularly in the winter when the weather is bad and you don't want to worry about a few rain/snow drops making water spots on exposed leather. Plus the patent dresses the bag up a bit.

Uh oh, I love it in black patent even though I already have a black patent Muse Two! The caption says they're downsizing the bag and the prices are only $995 and $895, so I wonder how big the patent ones are.

^Lol, I love it in black patent too. Need it!

Edited to add: Honestly, I've been coming back to look at the pic all day!

Wow, looks amazing! I am appreciating patent more and more too, since it's essentially weather-proof! I'm curious to know how small these bags are, as I really like the new prices too! Wouldn't it be nice if they just downsized the prices?

Cosmo, we might end up as bag twins! I still want to see some of the new bubble leather colors in person (especially since I don't have any bubble leather yet) but this patent Easy is really drawing me in like none of the other versions have. It's just like when I saw the patent Muse Two, so apparently I now have a thing for black patent. I just hope it's soft and drapes the same way, because that's a huge part of the appeal of the bag for me and if it's too stiff that would be something that could send me in another direction. They look nice and smooshy in the pic, though.

I also want to see what these new sizes are all about.

^Not sure about the size thing. They could just be the same size small and medium Easy bags (regularly $995/$1295) but priced a little lower because they are patent. YSL has reduced prices on patent bags in the past. For instance, the patent Muses and Downtowns originally were less than the regular leather ones. Or maybe the poor economy has just prompted YSL to price some bags lower???

When I was in New York, my YSL SA said that 2009 would be the year of the Easy. It might be for some of us, lol!

Which one are you eyeing, Cosmo?
I am really liking that mustard colored one....
I wonder if there will be other colors?
I'm hoping it can be shoulder-worn !!

Just got the scoop from YSL...
The patent bags will be made in the colors black, beige, and a white pearlized/pink.
The yellow effect in the photo above is just "the lighting" :(
The black and beige (M) = $995
White pearlized/pinkish= $1195 (M)
They will be making black and beige in size S as well.
Tentative release of the patent is late Feb.

Y-Mail bag and clutch to be released only online in the new denim (you can see them now on website)
No word on the black denim capri bags !!

Excellent news. Thanks for posting. That's a great price. I am SO getting a black patent Easy!!!!!

Travelbliss, I definitely have seen a photo of the black denim Capri bag in the past. I think it was on YSL.com. I don't think its a new bag but I could be mistaken. Have you tried calling the outlets?

I saw a 'how to pack' article in either Harpers Bazaar or Town and Country (can't remember which), where they used the Easy as a laptop case. They put a BUNCH of stuff in with it too, so I'm assuming the Easy will come in some sort of brief-case size. I'll probably get one, if it can carry my laptop easily.

darn, I was hot for the mustard color in the patent Easy
maybe I will make my first foray into beige - I like darker bags - but YSL patent my lure me over to the "light side"
