Question the new fall RED: which styles have you seen this color offered in?

Hey everybody, I'm baaaccckkkkk! And suddenly I've got an urge for a mid- to larger-size red bag. We've already seen pics of YSL's new fall red in the Emma and Downtown styles. But what about the Besace or Muse II/Forever bag...has anybody seen those in red anywhere???? TIA

^Lol, I know, I'd be all over that!!!

I think we haven't seen all the new fall YSL bags yet. They have a tendency to roll them out real late, through the end of September. I'm gonna head to my local boutique this weekend and scope it out...

Welcome back, Cosmopolitan!

I had to run to Saks yesterday and was in both Neiman Marcus and the YSL at Saks Jandel and neither one had anything in this red. There was plenty in the grain de riz pebbled patent, just no reds. They did have two Emmas in the YSL, though, if you're still interested in checking out that bag.

The YSL had a lot of Muse Twos (the teal and violet croc nubuck are really stunning on both the Muse Twos and Besaces), Easy bags, 32 bags (not really a fan) and quilted croc Tributes in the new patent colors. The NM had lots of Besaces, Easy bags and Majorelles, one in the new cracked silver which I thought was a pretty take on it. Lots and lots of the grain de riz patent everywhere which you would think means there would be something in red (since I still haven't seen this color in person) but I've only seen it in the three photos you've posted.

I was told there aren't any Besaces in patent at this point (and this color seems to be married to the pebbled patent) and the only pebbled patent I've seen on the Muse Two is on the versions with the calfhair flap, so I'm doubtful whether either of those would be released in the red pebbled patent this season, although you never know. It seems like the Downtown, Emma, Muse and Majorelle are the main bags for this leather for now.

^Thanks shazam, and thanks for the great scouting report!

Its funny how we haven't seen these red bags around, isn't it? (Only places so far is on British and international websites and on eBay.) Like I said above, it kind of makes me think that there's still another wave of new fall YSL bags that'll be hitting the U.S. boutiques and department stores in a couple of weeks.

I still might end up getting the Emma in red (even if I have to order it from the London store). But I'm also open to other larger bags in the new red too...

So what's next on your list? Weren't you hinting around a while back about getting a new bag soon?

I was at the YSL boutique in Chevy Chase today and they actually had one red Emma stashed away in the back on hold for another customer. But of course my SA let me play with it anyway. Its a very nice, deeper, true red--not orangey at all as it appears in some of the pics above. (Red patent can be so difficult to photograph.)

^Well, the Emma is a great little bag, but since I just (unexpectedly) bought that Lanvin clutch, I'm feeling less of a need for another small "party" bag at the moment. So I think I'll browse around for a few weeks for a mid-size red bag--something I can use every day--and let my credit card cool off for a while too, lol!!!

That's great, I'm glad you got to see the red Emma in person since you've been wanting something in that color so badly. I look forward to the pics of whichever red bag you end up choosing!

I'm still undecided on my purchase but when I finally figure out which way I'm going with it, I will let you know! I love the bag itself but it would be the only purchase for me this season so I need to feel very sure. Decisions, decisions.

I completely understand. Too bad your red bag hunt isn't over yet. Although, I always find enjoyment in the chase. Speaking of red bags, I saw (and tried on) the Givenchy red patent nightingale you pmed me awhile back in person today. At Nordstroms. I must say, I think Givenchy patent might rival YSL's.

OMG, are you serious? Because that Nightingale has made it back onto my short list yet again. How was the color???? I'd like a dark red/almost burgundy shade, but I'm afraid of it being too light and orangey... Barneys.com lists a medium gale in "burgundy" and a large gale in "red" and I find it all very confusing...

Another top contender for me is the Valentino Histoire bag--but NOT in that bright (garish) "Valentino Red" shade that's been out for several seasons. I saw it in a new dark shade of red at NM on Friday. I think it was called ruby and it was stunning.

^Yesssss, it was GORGEOUS. I found myself salivating as I caressed the leather, which has variations in color. It's actually a dark red, and the picture above is pretty accurate. Not orange-y at all. The only thing I didn't like was the lining, which was a tan canvas. I can imagine that getting very dirty, although it would be easier to find things with a lighter interior. I'm still thinking about a nightingale as well, and I think that the medium is perfect (which was the size I tried on), but the besace is also on my short list for my late fall bag.

^Tysons, and Montgomery Mall, which is the one I was at today. I don't know which would be easier for you to get to, but it's worth trying on in person. The nightingale doesn't 'read' well online.
