Hey,

New to YSL forums.

Just got a White Patent Downtown (good price i think), but i dont need it esp since winter is right around the corner.

If i was too keep it, what seasons beside summer can i wear it? how late into the fall can i wear a white bag?

Just wanted some oponions.

I think you can wear white year round...winter whites! I love the Downtown, it's a great everyday bag. Congrats!

I agree with pikeeygirl, you can definitely wear a white bag year round, even better that it's patent, water, or melted snow will bead right off.

I agree that winter white works year around. I don't want to rain on your parade but do want to warn you to be cautious about the white patent since it can go yellow. There have been some posts on this occurring.

My understanding is that the "coating" of the patent reacts to sunlight and will yellow over time.

Keep it. You will love it more and more. Like all other white handbags, you just have to pay a little more attention with the bag. But definitely worth it!

I think it is a year round bag too! Definetly great if it is patent......perfect for winter!

Winter white, all year, yes...white white until the end of summer, whenever that is in your neck of the woods.

Be careful with light colored patent, it will pick up color placed next to it, another bag, jeans, etc and it does not come off. So be careful and you will be happy!

I have a winter white/ivory deerskin downtown I would wear all year long.

Thanks for all your advice, It's actually looks white/cream. I got it at the YSL sample sale in NY.
