Default My Updated Muse arrived from the BF - not happy

Love the bag, gorgeous. Unfortunately, it looks like the bag has two large scratches on the back. I really like the bag, and, obviously, the price is very good considering it is 2008 Fall season bag. However, does it really worth paying over $1000 for a bag with scratches? Its my third muse, so I can live without it... Should I return?

Your feedback is muchly appreciated! Muchly!

Pardone my dirty mirror!

The scratches are hardly noticeable, at least in those pics. I saw that bag in person at Neimans and I really really dislike the leather. It looks like vinyl. But, its your choice, it is a deal considering its from the fall season, but if the scratches are going to continuously bother you then you should probably return it.

Thanks! I actually love the leather - it is very smooth and keep the structure of the bag much better than my buffalo or patent. I also love the silver hardware.

The scratches are much bigger in the RL, and yeah, they bother me a bit. Having $18K bag with scratches is not something I was planning. Just my luck!

Guess its hit and miss with the BF - one bag comes in perfect condition, and another one comes looking like it came from where sun doesn't shine.

If the scratches look obvious in person and you're not happy with the condition, then it doesn't sound like a bag you should keep. There's also the option of trying again with BlueFly. They're still showing the bag as available on their site, which means there's at least one other one they could send to you. I think you would probably have to order it and return the one you have separately, but if you really love the bag and love the price, it may be worth seeing if you get one in better condition.

If the other one arrives in the same or worse condition, then you could just chalk it up as not meant to be, or decide whether you want to live with the scratches. They may also give you a small discount if you call to complain, but it will probably only be $25 or so.

Thanks shazam. They are sold out on the BF, which means my only option is to return. I think that's what I am going to do. I will buy a new bag in excellent condition, and put my own scratches on it!

I already complained to the BF few weeks ago when my clutch came in all scratched (badly!) and with no authentity tag. They gave me 10% off my next purchase, and the next thing came it perfect. Hit and miss with then, although I would expect better quality control, considering their inventory is high-end merchandise.

^They should still have another one, if you follow the link for it below, you're able to add it to your shopping bag. And apparently there's an extra 10% off today if you buy two or more items, too. But I can understand not wanting to chance it and just choosing to buy one in person that you can inspect and feel happy with before bringing it home.

Thanks! You can't actually order it from the web. When you add it to the shopping bag, it give an error. I am still in the process of decision making. Thanks for your help!

You know, I wonder if the error is coming up because they won't allow the purchase with their 10% off promotion today. They often "pull" certain items that can't be purchased when they're doing a 10% discount through the entire site. I'll be curious to see if it suddenly works tomorrow morning!

Yes, exactly! That's the error when they pull the items from being discounted. The muses said to be 'sold out' yesterday night, but I'll call the rep today just to make sure. May be they've got some more somewhere.

Honestly, I personally am not crazy about the leather or the silver hardware. Almost looks like a knockoff. (But as with all newer styles, maybe it just takes a while to get used to???)

Anyway, I am sorry about the scratches and your inconvenience, lisenoktx. Its always sad to get your hopes up and then be disappointed by a bag. Its so hit or miss with BlueFly.

Thank you, Cosmo! I am returning the bag today.

I also wrote a long letter to the BF about quality control. They are yet to respond.
