Default Muse Sizes

Hi!

Just wanted to ask about the dimenions of the different muse sizes: M, L, XL. Would the M fit A4 notebooks? If it is 18" where it is widest, ring to ring is 16", and near the top measured across under the lock is 13". 10.5" by height and 5" deep, would this be the L muse? I saw a couple of them advertised on eBay, with 18" 10.5" 5" - with some sellers claiming its a medium, others saying its a large... and me completely baffled and confused!
Thanks in advance

Also, does anyone have any recommendations on which size to get?

The M is pretty small. I don't see a notebook comfortably in it at all. It is more of a small handbag? The L is a good size. I could see a notebook in it, but not sure it would be a comfortable fit. The oversize would definitely fit a notebook, and a ton more.

YSL . com says large is 17 x 11 x 5. Oversize it says 18 x 15 x 6 (taller). The medium is 11 x 10 x 4. I'd get oversize, my favorite. Waiting till winter though...

^Yes, agree with MA.

The large and the oversize bags have the same base; both are about 18" across the bottom. The oversize is just about 3-4" taller.

(I've had the oversize for more than two years and love it! Its a big tote that holds a ton, while the large is more "handbag" size. Medium is way too small and looks silly IMO.)

You can check out lots of pics of the various sizes in our "photo reference" thread at the top of the subforum.

A Muse should not hold a notebook period. Planners, magazines, flasks - yes. School notebooks, text books, laptops - no.

Thanks for the replies

Does the muse sit comfortably on the shoulder? Is it comfortable to wear? I'm not a fan of wearing bags on my elbow for extended periods of time...

I will check the reference section for more photos

Make that two flasks...one for the mixer right?

The notebook will fit. Take it to the store tho and try it bc depending on the leather, the bottom may not be stiff enough for the whole bag to not be misshapen with the notebook inside it. (And it is very big, so may knock around. At least put it in one of those foam like covers first. You don't want the corners making marks or permanent stretch dents in the Muse.)

As for the shoulder/elbow thing, depends on your arm size and what you are wearing. Try it at the store with at least a sweater on, or maybe even a raincoat. You may find you do end up with it on your elbow, which is very heavy with a notebook!! :)

I have OS, and it sits very comfortably on the shoulder. I just want to warn you that wearing Muse extensively on the shoulder migh cause the stiches come loose (you know, that exterior stiches made into Y). I started wearing it on the shoulder, and noticed it happening pretty quickly. I stoped wearing it on the shoulder - and noticed no change since.

There is a thread on this forum talking about the loose stiches which you might want to read. I hope you will not get discouraged about the muse - this bag is gorgeous.

Sorry just to clarify when I said notebook, I meant paper, not laptop I would definitely not attempt to put a laptop in there!! Just the sheer weight of it could damage most bags!
Thanks for the replies. The main thing was to be able to fit it on the shoulder. In buying designer bags, I feel the ones I really do get a lot of wear out of are the ones that are practical. The rest sits in my wardrobe and are only ever used several times a year so I'm a little hesitant at the moment but the muse is such a beautiful stylish bag!!

I would go for the large, then. I think it would have to be bent to fit in the medium.

Coco, how funny is it that we all assumed laptop!! We are all so techno centric the word notebook doesn't even mean paper any more!! LOL.

I'd go for oversize, I think you may like it better with a standard paper notebook in it, bc you will have other stuff to probably...
