Love them but can't keep them all

ANother vote for metallic! WHite patent looks like it will be easy to care for, but you have to be really careful with the sun and color transfer from your clothes. If you think the small dt might be better for you then return both and get a color you are positive about!

To be honest, I think both the white patent and metallic have a trendy factor to them and both will have their own maintenance concerns (whether it's yellowing/color transfer or the metallic finish rubbing off). That's not to say I don't think you should keep either, but I don't know that the trendy/maintenance angle is necessarily the best deciding factor in this case.

I'd lean toward the metallic more for the reason some others have mentioned-you'll be able to carry it year round. Depending on where you live, the white patent is a very seasonal bag and so you'd probably get half the use out of it that you would the metallic. However, that also depends on what works better with your wardrobe and what you'd like carrying more. It doesn't matter if the metallic can be carried all year if you never feel like it works with your outfit and don't pull it out of the closet, while you might love the white patent enough to get continual use out of it through the spring and summer.

So my vote is metallic, unless you feel like you'd be much more likely to reach for the white patent when you're picking a bag each day. If you're questioning both of them and really want a small Downtown, though, then I agree with lanechange84 that it would be best to sell off both and get one you'll really love.
