OH, I meant to tell you I saw it at neiman in white tonight. Very cute. (I call the white cute, the red is more sexy:)

Yowsa! That is georgeous...It is a HUGE bag though and is why I don't buy the Majorelle...I am small like Cstna, and I think it looks huge on her...(for a structured bag anyway...)

It looks ginormous in the leopard print but what I'm also noticing is that while it looks cute in the first two pics, I'm not loving what the base is doing in the last two. It's kind of smooshed up along the sides and then the base juts out on the bottom. It might be the different patterns and white base creating an optical illusion, though.

Question Leopard, or What Color Majorelle???

Hello All-

I am new to the blog. I am wanting to the buy the Majorelle, but I am in a serious dilemma as to what color and who better to ask but all of you. I want to be able to get alot of use out of it, i.e. wear it with lots of things. I live in Florida, if that makes any difference at all as to color. I love leopard prints, but I know there are lots of mixed feelings out there about that. Your opinions are appreciated!!!

Does this bag only come in one size? I didn't realize it was this big! Beautiful though, YSL really makes elegant classy bags...

On looks alone, the leopard Majorelle is actually my favorite version of the bag. I tried a number of them on and it looked great with the black/denim combo I was wearing that day. However, the calf hair can bald in spots if the bag is rubbing against your body. If you were to carry it in your hand or in the crook of your arm, it would probably be less likely to happen than if you were to carry it on your shoulder, but it's just something to consider.

Also, if you want a version that you will be able to wear a lot, it also depends on your wardrobe because this bag isn't going to work with any patterns and some colors. I personally think it works best with neutrals, but you could also get away with some other solid colors.

Overall if you want a bag that can be used regularly and don't want to have to worry about maintenance or having it clash with what you're wearing, then I'd probably go with another version. Black patent is always a classic, there's the blue patent which is pretty, or if you want it to really pop then you could go with the fuschia/purple patent or the new red pebbled patent.

Christina has the medium and it's also available in a small/mini size which is more evening bag-sized...

I love the look of the bag but it is NOT an everyday bag, IMO. I have leopard peep toe heels that I made the mistake of wearing with jeans and VIOLA!, they are now hairless on the back of the heels!
