Default large vs. medium deerskin downtown

In the buffalo, I prefer the large, but I haven't seen the large in the deerskin.
I am buying over the phone so can't see either, just imaging based on the buffalo downtown images.... does anyone have either of these? What would you do?? I'm 5'6" and love big bags, but it's hard for me to imagine the deerskin without pics. I would love some help deciding here.
Thanks!

P.S. I have found pics of the medium deerskin now on this site (thanks Chinsumo!), but the large one (in deerskin) seems like something that has never been posted/discussed? Thanks all!!

I have large one, it's quite floppy because it is so long and the leather is so soft. I think I probably prefer the look of the medium.

i love the medium and its huge to me (i'm 5'1''). i also heard that the large had a shorter drop- anyone know if thats true? if so, that would seal the deal for me- its SO important to be able to throw the bag over my shoulder without problems for me. i cant stand when i have to use my other arm to help the straps up my arm and onto my shoulder. haha, its the little things that get to me!

It arrived yesterday in Medium and I'm so excited!!! I'm 5'6" and maybe I'm just used to big bags & totes because it does not feel that big at all to me. I'm in love :) :) :)

Congrats! Medium is a perfect size for the downtown, IMO. I am 5'7", and don't think mine is big at all.

I felt the same way even when I received my Large, I expected it to be enormous so it was actually smaller than I thought it would be and didn't seem too big to me at all. It sounds like you and the Medium are a good fit, congrats on your new bag!

Thanks Shazam & Lisnoktx!! My only other question is, how many days can I wear this bag in a row before the people around me get sick of it ??? Cuz I might never stop...

I have the medium dark brown Downtown.. I first had an ivory large/longer one and preferred the medium for myself. The large one is a great bag though although the deerskin is softer and scrumptious so it's a bit floppier

Medium Downtown should be good for people below 5' 6" unless you need an oversized bag.
