Question I Need Help Deciding On My First YSL Purchase!!!

Hi Ladies! I am not new to TPF but I am new to YSL. I have always loved these bags and am considering my first purchase. I wanted to hear from those of you who own the Tribute tote. It says that the strap drop is 8". How do you find the fit on your shoulder? I am a "fluffy" gal. My arms aren't huge but they aren't petite and slim if you kwim. Do you think the drop is ample? From the look of the bag I am thinking there is no slouch that actually brings the bag lower on the shoulder when you have it on. Do you think the bag is too long to be worn on the arm or in the hand? Thank you so much for any help or suggestions you can offer this newbie!

Hmmm...I don't own the Tribute, so I can't help you with the strap drop. But I have seen people wear it on the shoulder while wearing a coat. Are you near a store so you can try one on? I would also look at the Downtown. The deerskin ones are soft, smooshy without pockets. So it has clean lines like the Tribute. The Deerskin Downtown can be found at the outlets.

I am kind of "fluffy" too and I returned my large muse with the 8" drop because it would not fit on my shoulder.

I agree, the Large Tribute should be big enough to fit over most shoulders. I'm 5'9" and of average build and my large Tribute fits nicely on my shoulder. Here's a pic if it helps:

Get one, they're gorgeous!

Based on how mine fits, I think you'll easily be able to get it onto your shoulder without a coat, or maybe even with a lightweight coat, but it might not be possible to wear it on the shoulder with a heavier coat during the fall and winter.

I tend to get easily annoyed by shoulder bags when they slip off or won't stay put, so I often just end up hand-carrying my bags or wearing them in the crook of my arm anyway, and my large Tribute works fine carried both of those ways (I'm 5'7").

I have the large tribute. I'm 5'6 1/2" and the strap drop is just right IMO! Looks great on the crook of my arm too. I have no regrets about this bag! I love it!

Drop on the medium tribute would be too small to fit under your arm, but Large should be just fine. It is a gorgeous bag - I LOVRVE mine!

Smile My first YSL bags

I began to buy YSL bags this summer. Such bags include:

1. Downtown in gold;
2. Downtown in black deer skin;
3. Raspail in black patent;
4. London in navy blue;
5. Tanger in olive;
6. Roger in black.

I am happy with all these new bags.

For the new Fall season, I am most interested to buy Besace and Easy.
