LR, I wanted you to know that in your honor, I just changed bags for work tomorrow and am carrying my Muse, which I actually haven't worn in a long time. I'll have a busy day at work but will be thinking of you, lol.

Today, August 5th, is officially BLACK MUSE day!! woot! woot!

My bag is out for delivery

I brought all the contents of my purse in a small little shopping bag so I can move into my new bag asap. I never do that but that is how excited I am!

I'm not surprised. As I suggested in your earlier thread, I have yet to see a Muse made in the last couple of years that a member proved (via the cards) that it was actually made of buffalo, despite store claims to the contrary. I think that customers have it in their head that a Muse should be buffalo, so that's what they are told when in fact the bags are calf (veau) that is grained to resemble buffalo.

LR, again, I think it really doesn't matter whatsoever. If you love the look of your Muse you should just be happy and love it, lol! As I mentioned, the buffalo on my 06 Muse is nice and soft and light, but its very susceptible to showing wear. I suspect that's why YSL stopped using buffalo.

^That makes sense and I'm totally fine with it accept for the fact the YSL site is totally misleading.

On certain Muse descriptions it doesn't say anything about leather content (which I assumed to be calf) but on a couple of the Muse descriptions (including the one I ordered) it clearly states "Buffalo" Muse. So wouldn't that lead one to believe that it is in fact Buffalo?

If YSL wants to put an end to all this confusion they should just Ban the word Buffalo from their website and stores..lol.. because that is truly the only thing that lead me to believe that I was ordering a Buffalo Muse. It even says it's Buffalo on my reciept..

I just called the 57th street store and they confirmed that all the Muse bags are made of Calf. I asked when this changed and they said they didn't have this answer. The confusing part about all this is when I spoke to their "leather specialist" on Monday, I was told their Muse bags were made of Buffalo and that "sometimes" they make the Muse out of Calf. He said the Calf is stiffer and smoother.

Oh well. I am going with the notion that all Muse bags in the last 2 years were made of Calf. At least my bag should break in better, huh?

I will post pictures as soon as I get off work =)

COSMO- Thank you for your edless knoweledge and kind words. I am still very excited to love and break in this bag! Just caught me off guarde thats all. This bag looks GORGEOUS! I love how saturated the leather is.. so BLACK!

Does the Calf muse leather break in nicely? The leather seems very high quality, don't get me wrong, but the bag itself is so stiff and structured right now. When I look at other peoples pictures they look so nice and broken in and almost slouchy. Will that happen to mine too? I hope so!

I am already craving an Oversized Muse and an Easy Bag.. oh no!

Here are some fun mod shots. I usually do pretty straight forward/ serious pictures but figured I'd have a little fun with this one. I in NO WAY think I am a model.. I am just goofing around. I feel that needed to be said

** Some of the pics came out a bit whitewashed.. not sure why. Sorry!**
