Default Balenciaga City/Part Time or YSL Medium Downtown? Help me choose

I've heard some cons of the City/Part Time and am reconsidering but those bags look stunning as they would easily transcend from day to night (just dinner out, no clubbing).

I wonder if the Downtown is a good day-to-night bag too.

Please help!

Thanks!

oh no!!! don't tell me I'll end up with 3 bags!!!!

for the Day I'd like the Sapphire
for the City - the Marine
for the Downtown I haven't decided yet, probably a plum (then I'd have to choose another color for the Day as Balenciagas have more colors than YSL)

I'm also buying more designer accessories as I have none yet.

The most expensive wallet I have is a Coach I bought on an outlet store in Japan - heehee. Thinking of an LV Vernis in red.

As bags are really my passion!

What color is your Downtown & City?

my downtown is that rasberry color.. it's so gorgeous IRL.. and i have 2 Bal Part-time bags.. one in electric blue with GGH and the other is Black with GGH.. You can't go wrong with either bag they are both just as equally gorgeous!! Let me know what you decide

it's gonna be i november so that's a looong way off. i plan for these purchases because I don't wanna end up not using them.

I bought a black goyard croisiere and a fidji. the croisiere I'm kinda regretting because it was an impulse buy and i didn't realize it was heavy.

I didn't have any interests in BBags or YSL. The BBags even if I didn't bought it is ok because I got to play with some at NM Las Vegas. Didn't find any color I like.

The YSLs I totally ignored.

I went to the YSL & Balenciaga forums when I got back home. I then realized these 2 lines are perfect for me! Because they don't go on sale! (I know YSL goes on sale though).

Now I have to wait til we go to HK in Nov.

I'm looking for bags with enough bling for me. LV is totally blingy and Botega is totally no bling.

Aren't the Part times heavy to carry? I plan on using the shoulder straps more instead of the handles. What made you choose the Part Time over the City?

Thanks!

i don't like the fact that the city handles can't fit over your shoulder comfortably.. the part-time handles are perfect for that! I really like big bags and i find the size of the part-time the perfect everyday bag the city was too small for my everyday needs... the part-time also has a longer shoulder strap so you can wear it messenger style which is also a great plus!

you are very smart planning your purchases ahead of time.. i can't even tell you how many times i rushed into a purchase because i thought it was a good deal and then later regretted it.. HTH

Thank you Galex,

I do plan my purchases because I cannot return them as I always buy overseas. Don't want a whole bunch of unwanted stuff lying around. Especially $1,000 bags.... chuckle

I am truly into DT totes now but I am going to say that I don't really see this bag as being an "evening" bag. Might be too big to be going out especially if you're going out w/ friends and dancing, etc. Could be a bit cumbersome. I don't own any Bal bags but I'd have to say they may be a better fit for your needs. They're also smaller but yes I agree they seem to be heavier with the giant h/w (at least the ones I've tried on at NM). GL!

thanks alouette. I should be more specific with what i meant by "evening". Evening is only casual dinners after shopping. I work at home.....

and at my age, clubbing is not in my vocabulary anymore hehehe

^^lol! Me either!! Casual dinners after shopping seem like the DT might work then come to think of it. If you got a cool color in the DT, it just might work. I guess it all depends on how comfortable you feel wearing a bigger bag and how much you carry day to day.
