My thoughts:

1. She says the retail is $1570 when it actually is $1295.

2. It's very odd that she doesn't have the receipt. She's been a seller on eBay for quite a while. Seems like she would be one to keep track of receipts in case she wanted to sell it later. She managed to save all the little control tags but not the receipt. I find that very, very suspect.

3. She seems grumpy and not very nice based on the way her listing is written and the way she replies to her bad feedback. I personally prefer to deal with nice people. Sometimes you don't find out they aren't nice until later. I could tell I wouldn't like dealing with her right away.

4. She has 8 negatives which seems like a lot to me based on other's feedback that I see.

5. She says the bag can be worn over the shoulder but folks here on tPF who have the oversize have said that it isn't made to go over the shoulder.

6. The bag looks OK. I find it hard to tell by the bag sometimes, especially on ones like the Muse. The people who do fakes do a good job of getting the logos and all the stuff they know people are looking for. I tend to go by who the seller is and what they say and don't say, when I don't see anything obvious about the bag.

I wish I could give you more information but that's my take on it.

Thanks, this is really helpful. I wondered about the price quoted when she said she bought it at Saks. I've just emailed her again requesting more proof of purchase...we'll see. If she can offer this information and she's telling the truth, she will also get much higher bids-it only will help her (IF its true...)

Good gracious, won't someone sell a real bag on eBay!

It's my understanding that Raffaello and StyleDrops both sell authentic bags. I am baffled by the difference in appearance of the same bag (oversized white muse) on each webpage. Opinions?

Holy cow!! Their prices are higher than N-M, Saks, YSL Boutique, etc. What is the point of buying it from them and paying above retail? The most expensive buffalo leather Muse is $1295 for oversize; large is $1195 and medium is $1095. Exotic leather is more but the ones on those sites are not exotic leather.

Chances are slim to nil that it is authentic. A $1200 gift...

I doubt it. And if so, it would likely come in a Saks, N-M or YSL gift box.
If it were real and brand new, wouldn't it be easier to return or exchange it for the full amount rather than sell it at such a low price... "Buy It Now" at $305 for a $1195 bag... If it were real it would go for a whole lot more.

very true. this bag didn't have a buy it now option though if i remember correctly... it was only bidding. i guess the winning bidder didn't want to pay, so i got the option to buy it now for the last price i bid.

Anyone know why the Authenticate This section of the larger PF is closed? There is a list of 'bad ebayers' who are known to sell fakes on that forum (I know this from a google search, but it won't let me in to see the whole post.) That sort of list would help a lot...for example, I see from google that the YSL muse I'm bidding on is from a seller on this list! Uh oh.

Second question: anyone know how to retract a bid successfully? or am I stuck?

no, you can retract it i think within the 12 hours you made the bid. just click on the bids, to where it takes you to all the bids people have placed on that item, and on the bottom it says 'retract your bid'. just put that you placed the wrong amount.

Hi, if I was looking at the right one it had a Buy It Now price of $305. It was listing #250043460067.

I thought the white oversized muses were sold out in the traditional retail outlets? I was curious as to the vastly different appearance in pix on the Style Drops and Raffaello webpages. Made me wonder if both are authentic, or if the appearance of the bag really varies that much. I thought the authentic bags had pretty good body, and that the fakes were floppier. The Style Drops version looks pretty beat up. I have read the comments about the leather softening with use, so wasn't sure. And I have read comments that the leather in the white is just not quite as appealing as in the darker colors, although it's the color I had my heart set on.

On the other hand, Pretty Mia has a bag on eBay that certainly looks athentic, but it's a private listing, so I can't imagine that it's anything but fake under those circumstances.

Hi, I've had mine a couple weeks and it is a little slouchier than when I first got it but it still stands up very well on its own when there is something in it. It is quite floppy when empty, though.

Just a couple weeks ago I saw white but now I don't see it at NM, Saks, B-G. Have you called the YSL boutiques?

You might also want to consider the white Rive Gauche if you want a beautiful white bag. I love that bag... It's on my wish list!!

Saks has it on "pre-order" with shipping in early November.
