thanks!
Places like that make me sick! Fake, fake, fake, fake, and fake!!

If you want a new, authentic muse you'll need to get it from Saks, N-M, etc. I prefer to buy from the YSL boutique since, as long as there isn't a YSL boutique in your state, there is no sales tax and shipping is just $10. You can save almost $100 by buying from the boutique...

You can go to YSL online and see where there stores are. I got mine at the NYC boutique. Katherine, at the Madison Ave. location, helped me and she was wonderful. I called a couple other YSL boutiques and they didn't know their stuff like she did. Their phone number is: 212-988-3821

Don't be so down on eBay. It can be tough but there are honset sellers out there too. There really are some of us that sell our handbags on ebay just to fund new purchases. I feel like you should be able to get a good feel by emailing and asking questions. Ask for more pictures. You can mention that you are a PFer. I had someone mention that to me when I was selling one of my bbags. She ended up doing a BIN because she knew she could trust me as a PFer. Both of us felt so much better about the sale. You can get lucky on these things. PF definately helps you to feel safer with the sale. You can post here to get others to look at the pics and help verify the authenticity. Hope this helps. It does help to get a few hundred off the retail price and not pay tax.

^^I agree with Princess. I'm one of those people who often sells from my closet too and like Princess, I'm always happier to know that someone is from tpf--for the same reason. Just be very careful and don't expect to see one discounted by more than a few hundred dollars, unless there are issues with the condition of the purse.

I'll need to check my cards. I'm almost positive they are white.

Here's what I would ask this seller:

1. Is the bag authentic?
2. If yes, then how did she establish its authenticity?
3. Is she the original owner?
4. Where was the bag purchased?
5. Has the bag been used? If yes, are there any blemishes on the bag?
6. If the bag is new how is it she is willing to take a loss on a bag that sells for $1295. Why not just return it to the store where purchased, assuming it was purchased at an authorized YSL retailer.
7. If brand new and not purchased at an authorized YSL retailer, there is a 99.99999% chance that it is fake.

EDIT: I just noticed the "fine print"... I'm now almost postive it is fake, based on this: "We purchase all of our items as authentic." This pretty much is the nail in the coffin... fake!

The older styles of YSL bags that I've had came with white cards in a black YSL sleeve. Both of the Muses I have, however, come with white cards in a white YSL sleeve. I don't know if that's a characteristic of just the Muse (I have 2 mediums) or of all their newer bags because I don't have any other recent bags right now.

I agree with kallie by the way--this seller is selling a number of bags by private sale--possibly the same 2 highly fakes bags over and over--as a buyer you have no way of knowing--I would stay away as the language in the authenticity section is practicly saying that the item isn't authentic, without saying it directly.

I got a message from eBay saying to beware the "second chance offers". I'm not sure you should consider it since it will be taking a risk that it is a true offer, or even worse, an authentic bag!

There is a new posting on eBay-a slightly used chocolate color bag from someone in NYC. Anyone know if this looks real? If you read her reviews, she sells other bags as well which makes me a little nervous that she's a dealer and not an individual seller who wanted a smaller size bag...as claimed. Any thoughts?

Hi - new to this website...
I have just bought a 'slightly used' double YSL from eBay.....claiming it is authentic.... anyone know of any tell tale signs to try and guarentee this..?
It has the little leather tag with a number embossed on it...
eBay.co.uk: AUTH.06' YSL YVES SAINT LAURENT Double REVERSIBLE Tote (item 150046400982 end time 16-Oct-06 11:39:04 BST)

are the gold rings the surround the top of the bag meant to have YSL printed on them ??

2. She mentions that the bag is from her "client". This means that she is trusting that the client is telling the truth about the origins of the bag.

I suggest writing the seller to ask how she authenticated the bag.
