I've grown to like the Muse briefcase more and more. It's a beautiful and practical bag, looking serious yet not too stiff. Other than that, the Raspail tote, although it might only be appropriate for work if you're in the creative industries.

The Rive Gauche in the large, black would be perfect. It is much nicer in black in real life than in photos. Just not sure how sturdy the shoulder strap/handles would be with a laptop in there, but definitely big enough to hold a small-medium laptop. Best of luck, and please post photos if you purchase a YSL.

how about the large besace?
last time I spoke to my sa she said that the large besace belongs to the men range although it's not listed online it can certainly fit a laptop and lots of papers cannot tell how sturdy it is since I haven't got the bag but YSL bags are pretty strong in general, at least imo given what how much I load my downtown muse and majorelle good luck |

^I tried on the Large Besace and I have to say that with the metal detailing and with how narrow the shoulder strap was attached onto the bag, it felt a little bit uncomfortable worn messenger style. I think it's okay if you don't carry much, but I'm sure it's eventually going to be pretty uncomfortable with a laptop inside of it.

I don't think a large besace would work for a laptop IMO. I have problems wearing the besace messenger style and I'm a girl!

^There is not only the women's large size, but also the men's size. It's not on the website but they carry them in the boutiques and it's a real messenger style that could easily fit a laptop size-wise. Not too sturdy though.

^oh, that's alright, i hadn't known about its existence neither until i saw a picture on a bags for men-blog and discovered it in a boutique.
it's a great men's bag, a great mix of vintage and coolness with a fashionable feel to it. |

well, as a man I own 4 YSL bags:
- Besace in grey embossed suede, as in the ad with Gisele. - Muse Briefcase 'east-west' in black buffalo leather - Muse Briefcase 'north-south' in Pumpkin brown leather - a messenger from the Atlas line for men & I love them all, I am seeking now the 24H edition travel roller. |
