As with many of you I'm sure, my obsession with handbags/purses/etc started small and non-designer. My addiction actually started with dance and gymnastics bags to carry my things stylishly to the studio or the gym! It grew from there and at first I would only carry inexpensive bags (well, I was in middle and high school) and eventually bought a leather bag from Wilson's in a fabulous, bright aqua color. I was HOOKED!
It didn't help that a few years later my boss and his wife would buy their gymnastics coaches Coach and Dooney wristlets for Christmas presents! When I graduated from college they also bought me a small ostrich Dooney bag which only served to fuel the fire.As soon as I could decide which Coach bag I wanted, I immediately went looking for it... it didn't help that I had moved to Colorado and was within 20 minutes of a Coach outlet either! A year or two later I found TPF and then discovered the brand Tano! Hooked again! Thus, my collection is mostly cheapo bags I still enjoy, Coach and Tano! Thanks for stopping by and looking!

Up first are some of my old, cheapo bags that I still love!
Pic 1 - The black in the back right I bought in Spain and I will probably always hold onto it because that trip was awesome! It's black nylon with two snap pockets and one zip in the middle. It drives me nuts because it looks the same from both sides and I always forget which pocket my things are in. The red furry one in the back was from Old Navy and is just super fun in winter, it's soft and fuzzy and actually slings over the shoulder pretty easily and needs minimal care. Next row down, the dark blue on the left is a Candie's bag from Kohls... I simply adoreeeeeee the color (it's darker blue than in the photo) and has a great pewtery sheen to it. Cute little satchel. The silver one next to it is one of my "going out bags" and I don't even remember where I got it. But it's flashy enough for the bar and I don't care one bit if beer gets spilled on it or what not. The light blue in the front is the bag from Wilson's that is leather (I have always loved color) and was worn a LOT for about a year! It's so smooshy and soft and I'm glad I made a segway into leather at some point. The one on the right is from the Gap a few years ago and is a thick, tweed feeling fabric with flowers and the faux croco chocolate pockets. It's a super cute bag in the fall when I need a modest/mature look. Pic 2 - some cute tote bags I still use when I need a light bag (from left to right - Old Navy, Vanity, Old Navy, Old Navy) Pic 3 - Zebra is from Target, Gray/pewter is from Kohls, Red faux croco is from Lane Bryant, Leopard is from Victoria's Secret, Magenta is from Express, Black evening bag with feathers is from Target and the middle one (also shown in pic 4) is one of my FAVORITE bags made out of satin with ribbon trim which I got up north Wisconsin when my family and I were on vacation one time. Such a cutie! Pic 5 - Bigggggggg purple bag from Target this fall because I was desperate for anything purple! Huge bag though, great for a carryon when you travel! |

Here are my cheapo clutches/makeup cases.
Silver with sequins was from NY&Co, Silver with the ring is a makeup case from Estee Lauder (I think?) and I use it as a clutch when I go out at night sometimes because it holds my camera! Black quilted is from Lancome, Blue metallic is from Sephora Faux snakeskin clutch from Macy's and same with the green/blue marbled one. |

Alright, onto the "designer" stuff!
Here is my very small Dooney collection! The wristlet was a gift from my boss and his wife, as well as the small ostrich purse. I bought the giraffe print one because I couldn't stop thinking about it for ages after I saw it in a store so I finally broke down and got it. |

Pic 2 - All of my normal-sized signature bags (I don't really like khaki signature as you might be able to tell but I do like the tonal ones) Pic 3 - The sateen feeling bags (hamptons weekend and scarf print ergo) Pic 4 - Large-sized signature (denim and black sig stripe totes, legacy sig stripe shoulder bag, large black carly) Pic 5 - My two patchwork bags (I really like the spring '07 patchwork but I have never used either of these bags! LOL!) |
