Next up: another Rebecca Minkoff Nikki. After missing this sample sale bag once on ebay, I was determined to get it if I ever saw it again. It popped up unexpectedly in early October, and with the success of my recent closet purge I was able to purchase this bag for a wonderful price. Rebecca Minkoff's tomato leather is perhaps my favorite out of all of her leathers. It is an unusual, brick-red color that is perfect for fall (and winter, and spring...you get the idea). This is one of the softest leathers imaginable, and my only regret is that I didn't buy this bag sooner. My tomato Nikki (original hardware):

Some of the members on the Rebecca Minkoff sub-forum organized a special order request for the chocolate Nikki bag this past summer. The chocolate leather is considered among RM's finest leathers, and is known for its thickness, softness, and depth of color. Since I missed the special order during the summer (the bags were set to be delivered at the very end of September), I figured that I was out of luck. But then I heard that some people had dropped out of the special order...so on the off chance that a chocolate Nikki with original hardware might still be available, I called Rebecca Minkoff's office in New York in mid-September. Luck was with me, because three bags remained!
I received my bag in early October, and haven't really taken it off since. It is an RM classic:

Awwww Lo, you're too cute. I love your stories, you're so eloquent and adorable.
Fantastic detailed photographs too. I love taking pics of my few bags, but my camera stinks, so they don't come out anything like yours. And I love all your bags to death!! My absolute favorite's gotta be that charcoal BW ....... that bag makes my pound!!!I'll be checking back to this thread Lo to see those vintage LVs... Mmmmm RM and LV!!! Delicious! Do you ever use your Ruby Bal coin purse w/ your Ruby MA? Are the reds the same? If they are that'd make for one hottt photo...they could be hot Ruby Sistah's - big sis and lil' sis. |

Lo: That was a lovely read.
 All of the stories to introduce your bags were so enjoyable. I echo the sentiments of everyone else who has posted before me. Great read! Great pictures! and Great Bags!PS - I think I've mentioned this to you before, but I can't wait to read your book!
