This is going to sound beyond shallow and stupid but I can't stop wondering - how do you finance your collections people?

Here's a couple of explanations and reasonings I can come up with (these soothe me...):
You're paying:
a) you don't eat or do anything else that costs money for that matter
b) you do not have children, so thoughts such as 'stroller' or 'chanel'? don't come up
c) you have much better salary negotiatons skills than me (and mine are not bad at all)
d) possibly, I hit the common pitfall of buying 1 classy car instead of 20 classy baggies

If hubby pays for this
a) you faked the address for his credit card statements so they arrive somewhere in Bogota monthly. He, of course, is too busy to look for them and he is a man so..he never finds anything.
b) he has a sneaky suspicion it's not all the household bills but dares not ask - you may actually stop smiling so beautifully
c) he has a pretty good idea about the extent of your collection. He likes life though and knows if he investigates the value, he WILL need a bypass and maybe a new heart.

Family money
a) most likely you've inherited, took your share, announced your spending plan to the other heirs and walked out at the sound of their jaws dropping

b) through years of coaching, your friends and family know EXACTLY what to give you as a birthday or christmas present. without knowing, they're slowly becoming experts on designer brands though they parade around in fit flops and a plastic shopping bag

that's it for now. let me know if I got at least one right

godzilly, I'm a University student, and I live at home. My only expenses are gas for the car, going out, presents for others, and my wants. I don't drink much, club ever, and my boyfriend refuses to let me pay for anything when I'm with him.
I worked for three years at the same restaurant (part time during school, full time during the summer), moved up, and got very good pay especially the last year. That's how I make my money, and I have scholarships that pay for all of my tuition PLUS I get whatever is left (and usually I can get a decent amount of Louis Vuittons with the leftover money).
No one buys me Louis Vuitton bags or Chanel; my boyfriend occasionally buys me accessories if I specifically ask for them for my birthday, and usually I get small gifts or small amounts of cash for special occasions, including Christmas. I would hardly call my family "wealthy", so there isn't any inheritance or anything. My parents are both still alive and healthy, and I am very young, so there would no be no reason for me to collect their inheritence.

Well, Chanel is really only sold at the Chanel stores but it's discontinued.

Karman, I did not mean to offend you!!! My explanations were a joke, things I say to myself with a smile about people who have more LV bags than me... I love your collection and wish you the best of luck with your boyfriend, successful studies and expanding the bag paradise!

Btw, today is a happy day! I work like mad and I'm a good mommy to my fabulous daughter and after two years of spending outrageous money on furniture, a car, strollers, tiny cutesy shoes and dresses, a whole new wardrobe makeover for me 4 times (early pregnancy, late pregnancy, post pregnancy, back to normal), a wedding and so on and on, I finally made the important investment... and the winner is .... the LV Damier Brera!!!

Oh, no worries, I wasn't offended. I get asked that a lot; if you look through this thread, you will see a lot of other people are curious as to how I have this many bags at my age

Okay ladies (and gents)...here's my CHANEL BEIGE JUMBO!

It's gorgeoussss...I LOVE it!
Unfortunately I did have to sell my LV Mary Kate Besace to finance this...as well as my "mystery LV" which should be here within the next couple of weeks. Mary Kate Besace does have a very good new loving home, though I wasn't using her enough!

And I have bad news...my collection won't be expanding as much as I initially anticipated. I have to save money to pay off the rest of the jumbo and the LV (which won't be a problem) but I'm also saving towards a downpayment for a house...my dad thinks I should start at a young age and I couldn't agree more.

So, I'm going to try to be good this summer! I may allow another LV when my scholarship surplus comes in the mail, but that may be it!
