Meet the NEW Sisters Stam!!!

My newest Little Stam is here!

Here she is with Topaz LS. I don't have Icy Taupe LS anymore, having sold her to pay for Ivory.

Also, more LV news for me: I'm getting a LV Damier Pochette Ipanema! It's going to be a little runaround bag, just for quick trips out or when travelling light or out at night round pubs. The strap is convertable to carry messenger style or around the waist like a bumbag, and removable too to leave the perfect sized Pochette!

It'll just fit my Damier Koala Agenda PM that I use as my wallet (and diary, and address book, and notepad..!) and my Mini Pochette - going off measurements, this is - so I'm now on the lookout for a Damier Koala Change Purse to use as a smaller wallet alternative for this Ipanema and also my other small bags like the Little Stams. It'll be hard to find though..

On a sadder note, I've sold my SO Damier Deauville to fund new flooring for our kitchen renovations. I'm sad to see it go, but happy at least that it's going to a fantastic home. It's just not the right time for me to have a $2k bag sitting around when we're tight enough doing renovations, but there will always be other bags! Having the new Palermo PM eases the pain, I still have a large LV bag, and helping too is that I'm doing well at dealing with my shopaholicism and curbing unnecessary purchases.

Hahaa, that might sound funny in light of my last two posts, but I spent no extra money in getting the Ivory Little Stam since I sold the Icy Taupe to pay for it, and the Ipanema will be something bloody useful that I don't have an equivalent of already and that will serve me well for years! Plus it's a much smaller purchase than most bags. Hurrah!

Unhappy

I've been on the H forums only three weeks or so, and yet already find myself with a wishlist a few thousand dollars long! This is exactly why I've stayed away so long, terrified of what even a peek at the Orange Side would do to me.

I thought the LV boards were bad enough, but now I'm ruined; I consider the Victoria FT a reasonably priced bag (at more than twice the cost of my most expensive bag to date!!!), and the Birkins 'expensive' as opposed to WTFBBQ-OMG-astronomical like I used to. Pah.

So here is my wishlist, written upon the only Hermes item I own to date, my Ulysse PM with it's Raspberry keycharm. They won't be lonely long...

I took the pics close up with flash for super saturated colours, and they all came out fantastic in that respect with not even any fiddling needed! Also had one buggerising around with neg inversion, colour rotation, b+w threshold, and sepia on one of the pics.

Enjoy!

I'm happy as tomorrow I'll be paying off my Damier Pochette Ipanema and will finally have another new bag coming - they've been few and far between lately! I've also been mourning the lost of my SO Damier Deauville, but her new owner kindly gave me it's stamped luggage tag to keep so I still have a part of her forever more. I'm going to slip it over the Ipanema's strap - it'll be the smallest LV bag ever to have it's own luggage tag! Hahaha it'll probably look all the cuter given the tag's a GM!

I have also found a Damier Koala Change Purse that I wanted for use with the Ipanema and other small bags.. it's part of an auction with a bag, but I emailed the seller and if they don't sell together she'll sell it to me alone. Whee!

I'm SO EXCITED because I'm getting my Holy Grail Miu Miu Shopper back!!!!!!

I found this bag earlier this year and well and truly fell in love with it. Once I had it I saved it for trips away and barely carried it as it felt too spesh to carry around town here. Then I sold it, and have regretted doing that ever since.

Well, the lady I sold it to is willing to sell it back, and I'm over the moon! She only carried it once, and I'm gonna have mah baby back.

Yayyayayayyyayaayyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've just sold my last two black bags to go searching for a new black bag, and so this will be my only one, and rightly so. It's perfect for me.. light, has the shoulder strap, gorgeous styling. I'm crazy for it, and no more saving for a Special Trip - this one's going to come with me everywhere. It's the sort of bag with the nappa that will still look great with some use anyway. LOVE it!

Here's model Ali Michaels with hers.. I've spoken to Ali a few times on tFS and mentioned how seeing her with her gorgeous collection of bags and carrying this one made me want it so much, and she said she loves hers too and is glad I enjoy mine! It probably looks a touch more fab with her than mine would with me though.... just look at those legs! Utterly gorgeous girl, through and through.

I think I'm still going to be searching for another few items on my new wishlist; these include a YSL Medium Downtown (the pockets sort) and a YSL Oversize Muse, both in either Violet or Black. I'd also love the Chloe Saskia Large Tote in any colour, and a Mulberry Large Mabel, but there's time for all that. Right now I'm just stoked to be getting my Miu Miu back again!

Wink

I really need to update here, as once again the revolving door on my collection room has been spinning and I've had rather a few departures and arrivals!

Some of these include bags I thought I'd never sell, like the Palermo which I'm about to post away, but I'm being much stricter on myself than I used to in terms of keeping what I'm going to use and in selling to fund something new. I've had a much bigger collection in the past but feel much better about keeping it more streamlined and less indulgent.

I'm sticking to bags that don't really need much babying, as I'm inclined to never use them.. with the Palermo, it was brand new and had the palest white vachetta ever.. I was going to protect it with Lovin My Bags stuff but hadn't gotten around to purchasing that stuff before the Aussie dollar dropped in value and left me with payment plan installments that were suddenly 1/3 more expensive! So I sold the Palermo to finish off payment plans on new bags, but had it not been such a pristinely perfect bag I'd have been able to use it for the five months or so that I owned it! Because it was so perfect I was saving it for trips away, being too lovely to carry in this small town, and not getting the chance to take a trip I've simply missed out.

So, another lesson learnt, and I think from now on I'd only get a Mono bag with very little vachetta so I don't feel as though I'm losing value on the bag to just carry it around town here, if that makes sense! I'm carrying on too with only getting bags I can carry upon the shoulder, although the only possible exception to this would be a bag for work that I'd only be carrying into and out of a car, and which could be ginormous and heavy without a problem.

Therefore my new Frankie Bag Selection Criteria is as follows:
  • Big and slouchy!
  • If it's leather, it needs to be thick and smooshy, as opposed to thin and delicate.
  • Handles need to go over shoulder, or bag needs a long strap for shouldering.
  • The more pockets / sections, the better.

Suitable candidates off top of my head:
  • LV Neverfull GM
  • LV Galliera GM
  • LV Carryall
  • LV Keepall 45 with strap
  • YSL Oversize Muse
  • YSL Medium Downtown
  • YSL Large Rive Gauche
  • MbyMJ Turnlock Teri / Faridah Hobo / similar MbyMJ styles
  • Miu Miu Shopper bags (the many variants thereof!)
  • Mulberry Large or Maxi Mabel
  • Mulberry Elgin
  • Chloe Large Paraty
  • Chloe Betty Hobo
  • Chloe Square Saskia Tote
  • Chloe Edith Messenger or Satchel with strap

....Other ideas?

So, outgoing recently were:

Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini - loved it, but too small - the MA version would be perfect!
LV Palermo PM - gorgeous but too pretty and needed the funds
Mulberry Roxanne in Black Antique Glace - gone to a GREAT home, had too many black bags
Chloe Paddington Hobo in Black - too many black bags, heavy, needed fundage

I'm still going to keep clearing out the closet, and leaving soon will be:

Marc Jacobs Little Stam in Topaz Quilt - gorgeous, not using it enough to justify when I need the funds and have more bags coming
Marc Jacobs Little Stam in Ivory Patchwork - ditto, haven't even used it yet
Chloe Saskia Satchel in Aqua Fresh - argh it's gorgeous and I've not even used it yet, but I could really use the funds!
Chloe Edith Large Messenger in Brun - really don't want to let this one go. Will keep it in reserve with a high BIN I think!

Selling such gorgeous bags is hard, especially as the ones going aren't even not right for me in terms of my criteria, but I do have a few coming now and it's not right to keep so many to be used so infrequently. Especially when..

Incoming I have!

YSL Oversize Muse in Teak Buffalo - HURRAH! My first YSL bag!
YSL Medium Downtown in Purple - stunning, a purple bag finally, perfect for me
Miu Miu Spring Shopper in Black - should never have let it go! lol.
LV Damier Pochette Ipanema - still on it's way, 5 weeks so far!! Great casual small bag for quick trips or out at night
MbyMJ Turnlock Faridah in Ocean - stunning stone blue hobo, slouchy, smooshy, and delicious!
My Bag Cares reuseable tote - this just arrived, and I LOVE it!
