I am only on page two of your amazing collection, but there is so much to take in that I am really in a bit of awe and am compelled to say that I love everything. The Goyard trunk, the French Company era luggage, and those Steamer bags (my holy grail) are all marvelous. But the thing I find the most appealing about your collection is that you have made the effort to delve into the history of your pieces. And for me that makes your collection all the more amazing. Thank you for sharing! :)

OK, I haven't updated in a while because I was on self imposed ban, but I MUST share!!!

I took the plunge and made a huge RISK, but I want to scream it from the rooftops...

I Finally BOUGHT A
LOUIS VUITTON STEAMER TRUNK!!!

The kicker is that someone painted it BLACK over the monogram canvas in the early 1900's. It is a simple black paint that I have been told can be stripped slowly and carefully away to reveal the canvas underneath. The leather trip is the only part I am really worried about, but I think it is definately worth the risk!

The interior is perfect, the trays are immaculate, and although one handle is broken all of the pieces are included and I am going to have someone restore them or bite the bullet and take it into Louis Vuitton. Regardless, I am in love with this trunk!

Below are the BEFORE pictures. Restoration begins end of next week and I will post AFTER pics.

More BEFORE pics.
You can see where the handle used to be the original canvas is exposed.

The ribbons are in perfect condition with barely any staining to the interior (rare for 100+ years old)

The missing pieces have been kept

WOW! Gorgeous collection. How do you find your vintage items? Like the red croc Gucci? And the Steamer Trunk? What an amazing find!
