Before I got my eyes lasered I had a real weakness for glasses - several pairs running $600-900 ea., but my prescription made it so I really wanted the thinnest possible lenses.
Mostly, though I figure that they're a great deal. How many fashion accessories do you wear every single day and right on your face? On top of that, they kept me from being blind so I'd have to admit I was glad to spend more on them than any pair of shoes/other item. |

i chose a fendi frame last year, which was about $270. but because of my lenses my parents had to pay about $789 OOP including the frames, no insurance.
each lense was about $250. i get them scratch resistant, glare resistance and something where the lenses themselves are thinner. i'm not blind but because of my prescription, the lenses are a bit thick and i don't have a magoo effect going on

I just bought new glasses - Chanel frames (style 2119 in gunmetal) - the frames were $400 and the lenses were $270 for a total of $670 but I can deduct $400 with my insurance plan so really I guess you can say the frames were free and I am just paying for the lenses.

My Vera Wang glasses were about $360 (including an insurance discount) - they have the Crizal Alizee anti-scratch coating and I have polycarbonate lenses (lightweight/shatter resistant).
I just bought Rx sunglasses and those were about $250 (Coach) - did not get the high tech anti-scratch coating or polycarbonate lenses on those, because I don't wear them quite as much as my regular glasses. |

My insurance covered the lenses but would not cover the frames(Chanel). So I came out of pocket 279.

so some of you may not believe me, but the majority of my prescription eyeglasses cost less then $30. and i don't have insurance. http://zennioptical.com is my hg. seriously. while they might not be designer frames, they have tons of different types, sizes, and shapes and for incredibly cheap! i have 3 pairs at the moment, and looking to buy 3 more soon just for change.
i like variation and like changing up my look, so this is better for me rather than spending $300+ on one pair of glasses. i change up my glasses about ever 6-12 months. all thanks to zennioptical. |

Spent 400 on a pair of Toki frames, handmade titanium Japanese frames, no one really recognizes me when they see me wear the glasses, which is a little weird.
I've had them for about a year now, and i wear glasses off and on. After a year now, I still love them, and I'm still in the same position as a year ago, I don't plan to get a new frame for a very long time. I chose them over plastic ones and the metal chanel frames at the specialty frame store in town |

mine were <$200. Oliver people's outlet glasses $119 then $40 to put basic lenses in. I used my insurance coverage on contacts instead since i use them always... glasses are back ups incase i work late or just to lounge around the house.
