Default Bloomingdale's Cashmere Scarves on sale
I visited Bloomingdales on 59th street today and almost all of their (Bloomingdale's) scarves were on sale for 25%; which reflected the online Columbus Day Sale.

Most of the cashmere scarves comes to $73.50 (originally $98) after the discount. I got the merlot solid cashmere muffler.

But here is my concern -- why does it feel like it's acrylic?? This is going to sound CRAZY but just the maroon/merlot one and that's the one I got because I loooooove the color. The tag says it's 100% cashmere. It's a present for my cousin and I wouldn't want to give him something that's FAKE.

I wouldn't think Bloomingdale's, of all the places, would sell fake merchandise. Am I just crazy? Can someone please share their experience with their Bloomingdale's cashmere scarves? Thank yyyyyou! And my apologies if this is in the wrong section.

It is most likely real, but there is definitely differences in quality and ply makes a big difference. I have many cashmere scarfs and sweaters ( I am a cashmere ho) and have even noticed a difference in feel amongst the Burberry ones. I have a 6 ply cashmere throw that is the most incredible thing to touch...the only good thing about winter is draping that over me while reading.

Thanks for your response frangelica

I can understand why anyone would be lured into a 'cashmer ho's lifestyle, ahahaa. I recieved a knitted cashmere scarf from a friend back in college AND IT FELT LIKE HEAVEN. That's why I'm specifically aiming to get 100% cashmere for my good cousin.

The tag says it's made in Germany and, argh, it's weird. I love the color but I think you're right about the quality. I'm torn between just sending this OR to spend a little more for a Burberry Giant Check Scarf (I know they're having a sale right now for under $200?)

The scarf I got was knitted and I'm not too familiar with how x-ply works other than that the bigger the number, the thicker and warmer it'll keep you. As an expert in the field, if you can give me few more pointers, I'll really appreciate it. Thanks!!
