It surely appears on the outside that she hasn't aged, but until scientists can prove that her body isn't wearing out like a "normal" person no one will know. Until then, the only thing that is clear is that this is a mentally challenged young woman with a growth disorder. But lack of growth doesn't automatically indicate a lack of aging. It appears that her disabilities have caused some health issues that she is lucky to have recovered from, but it does make a person wonder what else might go wrong that might not end as well. This is clearly a problem, and not a fountain of youth, IMO. If scientists can actually confirm that her cells do not age in the same way as others and can make breakthoughs in aging or disease prevention, then bravo, but it doesn't change the prospect for this girl - she is disabled, and will probably need round the clock care for the rest of her life (which might be exceptionally long if indeed she isn't aging as normal, or might be shorter than average given her disability).

My thoughts and prayers are with those children and their families.

Yes. I watched it. It's amazing, but at the same time it's like being stuck on "pause" for your entire life. This family is very patient and understanding and I'm happy Brooke has the support she needs.

Wow, what amazing people her parents must be! Having an infant for 16+ years. I know everyone jokes about wanting to "freeze their children in infancy" because they are so cute and snuggly, but no one ever thinks about the literal affects. It must be SO sad for the family to know that she will never walk down the aisle or walk across a stage for graduation, or drive a car. Tragic for the sisters too, because they never got to do the sibling bond with her and steal her clothes, talk about boys, etc.

I think it is great though, that her parents want to help other people with the medical research and secrets of aging or chromosomal abnormalitles through their daughter like they mentioned.

^^ Completely agree. I watched the special last night, and on one hand it was sad that she would never have a normal life, and frustrating for her family and her, but on the other hand it was so nice to see a family who just loved and cared for their daughter so much, and made the most out of the situation. At the end when the dad was talking about how if somebody showed up on the doorstep with a pill and said it would fix Brooke he said something like a) she's not broken and b) no thank you. It made me so happy to see that he loved her exactly the way she was.
