The manhole should have been blocked off before it was even opened.

This could have happened to anyone walking down the street, even talking to a friend, not just texting... Not to say people should look where they walk, but who the hell expects a manhole to be open?? Not me!

Lol. I think they are glad she fell in the hole. It wasn't that deep enough to be seriously injured. Now the family has an excuse to sue.

I don't have any sympathy for her at all. I trip and fall all the time, I'm clumsy when I walk. But it is my own fault. If I trip and fall into a hole, I consider it my own fault.

I agree.

But to fall INTO a manhole? What normal person wouldn't see a huge hole in the ground? She would have if she wasn't texting and was paying attention to where she was walking. Thats JMPO.

Is it wrong that my first reaction was amusement when I read the title of this thread? I do hope she's OK though.

^^haha

I'm thinking if she's so engrossed in texting to fall down a manhole, she'd probably be endangering her life in so many other ways she was lucky to not have been killed. She could have been run over by a car or at least knocked her head into something by now.
