They must be SOO strong, she looked like she had nail polish on in that clip of her on ellen. I can't imagine how gross they must look without it. :S

Wow. Just watched that Ellen clip. I kind of feel bad for her - they were probably an enormous part of her identity and now they're gone?!

I see it as gross because there is NO WAY you can practice proper hygiene with those things on the ends of your fingers. And nails themselves are a trap for dirt, germs, and bacteria--even the short ones. Now, imagine how nasty the long ones would have gotten!

I prefer to keep my nails short. It's more practical for me since I'm a housewife, and it's just cleaner and easier. Long nails are a nuisance. I don't understand why someone would want to lose normal use of her hands, but if that's what she wants, whatever.
