I personally don't find it a big deal and I certainly wouldn't change airlines for it.
Like some of the others would said, as long as I get to my destination safetly! In my opinion -our society are covered in these ads, it would be silly to change a bus routh, not enter a building, etc just because there's a bikini on it. I think people are just not use to seeing it on an airplane. Just give it a couple of years with our mass marketing we'll find all sorts of ads everywhere. |

For all the connections drawn between this and Victoria's Secret - it is a little different. I have some say over when I look at a Victoria's Secret catalog. I don't look at it while sitting on the couch by my dad, for example. And I don't look at it around my 4-year-old niece, which is probably overkill, but largely because I don't want her to grow up thinking that grown-up girls who are considered "beautiful" by others have to be barely-dressed (she'll get that message from enough sources when she's older). And, realistically, most guys who read Sports Illustrated and look at that pictures won't be doing so while they are hanging out with their mom. Why? Because it's inappropriate - and they don't see a girl in a bikini like that the same way we do. It's not "porn" and its not anything shocking, but it is inappropriate. I want to have control over the environment in which I look at pictures of women in string bikinis - not be faced with it at 5 a.m. while traveling with my mom, dad, brothers, niece, and boyfriend. |

I don't think the image is soft-core porn, but I think it is rather uncalled for. Just like it's not illegal to wear a swimsuit on the street, but it's inappropriate nonetheless. Call me a prude but that's what I think.

As long as they keep offering such cheap airfair with no hidden fees you could paint satan's picture on the plane for all I'd care.
Now if they started showing actual porn for the in-flight movie, I might have a problem with that. |

I would still fly the plane and I don't think it's soft porn.
What does bother me is that some of the only images we see of women nowadays are of them being sexy, as if that's all we're capable of being. We don't see THAT many smart or funny women (although there are some good role models), just women that are young and scanitily clad. I don't think that's a good thing to teach young girls, because they grow up thinking their worth is dependent on how sexy they are. But this goes so far beyond a bikini-clad girl on a plane, it's how women are objectified everywhere. Wow, I am so not a feminist, LOL, but I do think it's a bit sexist. |
