^ I find most teachers to be bad when it comes to spelling. I don't know why this is so common, but it's ironic.
I can't believe what I'm reading here!! lol... don't even try to justify your ("her") actions. It's all on tape. How could she possibly be misunderstood?! There's absolutely no reason for what she said. Absolutely NO excuse. This teacher may feel all big & mighty up against 8 year olds now, but sleep with one eye open, because when these kids grow to a certain age, they may just return to stab you in the back. |

The comments cannot be interpreted any other way. No situation warrants that type of abuse towards a child. She lied to the parents about what she said to the student. As a side note, I have seen foreign students with better English skills than that teacher.

(What's up with all the mam's in the article? That confused me so much. Last time I checked it was ma'am.
)What a horrible teacher. I agree with pink.couture, good teachers encourage their students and build their confidence, not threaten them.

I agree...she was actually my teacher in elementary school. She was an awesome teacher! Who doesn't say things? Who doesn't do things that aren't right? I don't know of anyone in the world that is completely without fault or blemish...Just Jesus....and He was forgiving enough to die for us! Wow, it funny how people have so much to say when their life is "not" the one on the line...whether she said what she said or not she is still deserving of mercy. Wouldn't any of you want mercy for something you clearly know is wrong and you're asking to be pardon. I am not saying what was said was right because clearly it wasn't...but don't discredit her because of this! Over 30 years and I can totally say that the majority of her former students are doing well because of her dedication!!!!

This is a public forum, not a court of law. Everyone here is allowed to have their opinions and state them respectfually which they have. It isn't a matter of mercy and whether or not she deserves it but a matter of whether or not this teacher is competent enough to continue teaching children. Being caught on tape saying the things that she said implies that she isn't. I can forgive someone and extend grace and mercy but it doesn't mean I have to allow them to have access to myself or my family. She discredited herself with her own words. The court system seeks justice. Seek mercy elsewhere.

I believe under Texas law that only one (participating) party has to be aware that the conversation is being taped.
Unless that has changed since we took our jurisprudence classes, we were taught that it was just fine for us to tape conversations with our patients (because we knew about the taping) and it was pertinant to our protection. |

there's too many teachers that do that to kids. I personally have had teachers threaten me, with no chance to record it. I hope she never teaches again.
