People drive crazy everywhere in the world... It may be in different ways... I have been in countries that the drivers are so bad make NY and Miami seem like angles...

NO!
Well, that is just crazy.(I obviously agree) Nearly every time I drove on a highway (when I lived on the East Coast) there was some prick swerving and cutting people off, and 4 out of 5 times it was a new yorker. Not to mention that the 10 or so times I've been in that city, every driver on the road is acting crazy. I never want to drive in NY for that reason. Last time I went, my mom's friend drove us through the city and he almost got us squashed when he tried to pass a truck as the road merged. I was pissed. |

I lived between DC & Baltimore most of my life and my mom is from NY, so I've seen some pretty bad driving! When we got out here on the coast of CA I was pleasantly suprised. Aside from the occasional freeway idiot the drivers here are actually not bad at all IMO! Unless of course it's raining

I second NYC (more specifically, Manhattan), and I'm from here!
It's one thing to observe the traffic as a pedestrian, but it is a totally different perspective when you must deal with driving in congestion and alongside bicyclists and pedestrians all at once in the small island of Manhattan! |

Being in NY last week made me SO glad I learned to drive in New Mexico! I never would be able to keep up with the maniacs driving in NY.

yes! yes! Maryland should be number one. i swear to god. i have driven in NYC numerous times, even Boston...but no one can hold a candle to MD. 1. drivers are territorial with their lanes. don't try and get in front of them so you can get off an exit. they speed up to stop you. In fact, if your driving behind a snail driver and you get in the next lane (if that next car lets you in that is) and you try or get in front of that driver, you will get honked and next thing you know they will be riding your bumper. after they tried to speed up to prevent you from getting in their lane. 2. Never indicate. God!!!! drives me crazy. people just turn out of no where in front of you, or even get in front of you out of nowhere. Just careless. they refuse or get offended to have indicators installed in their car. However, if I use mine to let them know im going in their lane...thats when they want to speed up to stop me. see 1. 3. They are obsessed with the third lane. Its suppose to be the "pass thru" lane where you take when there is traffic in the next two lanes. But Maryland drivers treat it like its the only lane worth driving. In the morning, when cars aren't even warmed up yet, they get on the highway and go immediately to the third lane when there are no cars in the last two lanes. Its ridiculous!! Then some of them are driving well below the speed limit, thus causing traffic and long distance drivers have to get in and out of lanes just to avoid this jerk who insists on taking his sweet time on the pass thru. Don't honk or tailgate him, because he won't budge. |

I think Taxi drivers everywhere are "agreesive & angry". I remembered a taxi driver was so bitter, the day i had to step out of the airport. he was smoking, driving 100 mph, and he really didn't for anyone's safe. fun ride and all, but pretty sure i could of died that day.
never again.. haha. EDIT: but I would be agressive and angry too, if i had to drive for 4 long hour, or anything over 15 minutes. espically on a freeway. everyone has a frown on their face in L.A traffic. everyone. |

I am so not suprised by this.
I went to NYC for the first time a couple of months ago, and I was shocked by the drivers there! I mean you walk outside and there is constant honking, cars riding eachother's tails, it was terrible. I would NOT own a car if I lived there. The honking was more annoying to me than anything!! Shutup and drive!!! |

Oh, and I live in San Antonio, TX, and if I could, I'd nominate this city to be on this list. Driver's here are mean and ruthless or just plain dumb.
