Default Mistress to Wife: Let Him Leave a Loveless Marriage
ESPN Baseball Analyst Takes Leave of Absence After Affair

Wednesday, October 21, 2009
HARTFORD, Conn. — ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips acknowledges having an affair with an assistant at the cable network, and has taken a leave of absence during the playoffs.
Phillips says in a statement released by ESPN Wednesday that he's sorry to have "put his family and colleagues through this."
ESPN has granted Phillips'request for time off, and has taken unspecified disciplinary action.
Police say 22-year-old ESPN production assistant Brooke Hundley called Phillips' wife in August after he broke off the affair and sent her a letter graphically describing their relationship.
Phillips says he will not press charges. The status of the police investigation was unclear Wednesday.
ESPN says Hundley is still working for the network.

It's this letter that really makes the story. (Mods, if this is too explicit, please remove.)

Oh good grief!!! "I'm 22 but I'm not stupid." How funny! Yeah, you are stupid...you're messing around with a married man who has done this before, has betrayed his wife and family for at least the second time, has denigrated his wife to you, violated his marriage vows and the teaching of his church, seems to be claiming his 3rd and 4th child are not important because they're only the result of a reunion after another affair, etc, etc, etc and you have the unmitigated nerve to write a letter to his wife lecturing and scolding her?

Actually I think the bimbo-letter-writer deserves such a loser but he is married to someone who has first claim on him and her wishes are more important here.

Bad news for Miss Brooke here too, she's going to be poison to anyone who knows her since this has been made public. Maybe she can learn better judgment from her experience?

That 22 year old child is so hopelessly stupid I am not even angry at her, just feel sorry for her. Why does she think he didnt want to tell his wife? I bet he is going to leave her sorry young a$$ in a blink of an eye.

Edit : ok I just read he had already dumped her when she sent this letter. Pathetic.

I read about this story a few days ago. This girl needs psychiatric help. She even contacted his son and posed a peer!

I hope he's learned his lesson. He probably thought he was getting some easy tail and didn't count on the bit being pyscho, lol.

I just had no words. She's in for a hard-learned lesson, IMO.

But I also feel like she's finally giving this horrible guy what he deserves. Its awful that his wife and children are being dragged into this as well. How terrible of him to subject them to this!

Still, surely the wife can use that letter to help herself out in the divorce. So sad.

Crazy doesn't begin to cut it...the wife's statment said that psycho got all sorts of family information from the eldest son throughout a 3 week span of chatting on FB. She also personally delivered the letter to their HOME!!!! Talk about disrespectful.

On a sidenote: Shouldnt a 16 year old know better than to air out his family's dirty laundry to a complete stranger over the internet?

Unfortunately, too many 16 year olds do not exhibit adequate judgment.

^^really? the part that had u FUMING was the fact that she sent the letter, and not the fact that the infidelity took place in the first place?

Poor deluded idiot. Still, she won't be the last "other woman" to deceive herself into believing a married man will leave his wife for her and life will be wonderful.

Send it? She personally dropped it off on her doorstep. Talk about adding insult to injury!!
