The letter by it's self left me with some sympathetic feelings. It felt like a letter from a young woman led on by an older man. I'm leaving her as soon as -fill in the blank -with what ever excuse he has for the moment.

Her request for the restraining order the following day gives a totally different impression.

Even the sons statement taken that day is creepy.

Steve Phillips is totally to blame for sleeping with her, but so much of what has come out, supports that she is unstable, and continued this behavior for weeks.

SHE IS WHACK!!

WTF? She stalked his family, posed as a classmate and flirted with the son?

She's really screwed up in the head.

As for those who think Steve is the one in the wrong, .. please remember it takes two to tango. They are both culpable. Brooke is a 22 yr old WOMAN not a 12 year old girl.

Scary abnormal freak! If she didn't have the wife and kids to dump the woes of her break up on, I wonder what she would have done. People break up everyday, have affairs that we all rag on, most get seriously upset, move on or want to retaliate on the dumpee. What happened to just calling the wife and confessing? Not that moving on is always the better option, but I can somewhat accept if that's all she did. I can't believe her obsession to do this to the ONLY victims in this situation. He may deserve all of this drama, but his wife (soon to be ex) and her 4 children don't. No excuse for that behavior whatsoever either. No one's giving the husband a get out of jail, but this story's about this letter and what she did after the fact with setting up her son, describing his penis, etc, in efforts to gain personal information that should have nothing to do with her. If it was about him, and his cheating, and she was some mistress in obscurity, it would be about his wicked ways. Maybe there should be a thread started about his history of cheating, and we can all dump on him too, all about him.

Well...

The guy she is cheating with must be getting ready to dump her...

else why would she feel threatened enough to want to try and make the wife leave her husband through this letter???

What a fool! Hope they fire her... that is against company policy and morals... and if a company fire her b/c of that, it will set good example against foolish actions.

Uggggh...

What a mess! It is so wrong of her to even try to contact the 16 yr old kid!

Good thing the wife is smart in all this... she deserve the house, the kids and most of his $$$. She can find herself a real man then.

I am on the it takes two to tango team

Brooke Hundley is not blame less in this. If she had pulled anything close to what Amy Fisher did they would charge her. No one would say just charge Steve because his actions led to this.

In a court of law most states do not take infidelity as a consideration in the division of assets.

The stickler for me is how much did the wife know?
She definitely knew he was a serial cheater. He had a "series of affairs" charged with sexual harassment.
http://www.nytimes.com/1998/11/09/sp...ible-suit.html

With this type of behavior, it would be impossible for me to trust him.

But I did hear a theory that I had not thought of.
Did they have an open marriage? And when his affair caused this much pain and embarrassment it was too much to handle.

This is interesting, seems there has been a few things happen tied to anchors at ESPN http://askville.amazon.com/Steve-Phi...nseId=61873369

I don't think we can compare the Amy Fisher case to this case, they're totally different. Steve Phillips mistress didn't kill his wife. What she did was stupid and there's no excuse, but it's still his marriage. Is she at fault? Of course, but if I were the wife I would be angrier with my husband because he didn't value our marriage. There will always be women that will cheat with husbands. If it wasn't this girl, it would have been another.

I know they are very different, but it was the only example of crazy behavior from a public affair that came to mind.
The wife Mary Jo Buttafuoco was shot, not killed. She suffered devastating injuries, that she still battles today.
To this day Amy says Joey was involved. Joey claims Amy was delusional and did it on her own.

I knew it was a poor comparison when I made it. Part of the reason I said if she did anything "close to what Amy did."
To highlight that she was too young is not a good defense of her behavior.

But it would have been better to not use that example. I don't want to diminish the pain and ordeal that Mary Jo has gone through. :)

I feel sorry for Brooke Hundley because she will always be an idiot. She will not learn from this. Also, people all over the nation are either laughing at her or hating on her.

Steve Phillips deserves to lose everything. Clearly he did not learn anything back in 1998.

Letterman is scum, too.

Oh, I don't think you meant to diminish her pain. I forgot that Mary Jo lived. I should have said that Amy Fisher TRIED to kill her. I think she finally left her husband a few years ago.

Girlfriday My comment was in case it was coming off that way. No inflection makes it hard to interpret things on the web.
Mary Jo did leave him and was recently promoting a book. I was touched by the interviews she gave. She really believed that Joey had nothing to do with it, for a long time.
I think the good thing is that I can't really think of another case to reference.
It's a shame when you see these things.
Regardless, I know we all agree it's such a shame for the children.

This reminds me of that movie Obsessed a little (except in this case, the husband consented). Creepy... The world is a scary place full of scary people.

i actually think letterman is worse...he made his scandal into making money machine....he actually used the fact that he got caught to benefit himself.
