I don't have any sympathy for him, either. But by the same token, you can't get blood from a turnip. If you sleep with a man with many other children and a minimum wage job, either use protection or don't expect any significant monetary (or emotional or time investment) support.
There are a lot of people that should be snipped snipped. Even the ones that can pay.

And since child support is calculated based on income, those who have lower-paying jobs pay less. If this guy can only pay $1.49 to each child per month, then so be it. If he isn't delinquent in his payments, it shouldn't matter how much they are. If there were a financial litmus test for having children, then millions of people would need to be sterilized, as there are millions of people (both men and women) without the means to support a child. Thus far, the courts have never ruled that a person must be of a certain economic class in order to reproduce.
