Jahpson - It's Essie and when I got the ad in the mail I clicked on it and it was sold out at that time. There is a pink polish on the website in the girls section called Forget Me Nots and that looks like it. Not sure if it's the same one as in the ad.
When a company does something like this, I'm always suspicious. J.Crew is looking to make a profit; I doubt the advertisers' primary motive was to make a statement about the fluidity of gender or roles. No different to Dove's "Real Woman" ads.
Colour me cynical.
