(((Amanda))) Yeppers hon! I sure am!

You know, I joined one month and one day ago! (It's still the 3rd here as far as I'm concerned) Bunch of great folks here.

I've been grinnning all day long, called/emailed everyone I could think of who wanted to know, etc. Tomorrow morning, they will give final arguements and victim-impac statement from the families, then I think, I am not sure, the judge decides his fate. But the worse is all over now.

Speedy, thanks for sharing the news! I'm soooooo glad the justice system worked and that #@!$% was found guilty, guilty, guilty (even though in reality of COURSE he was, but you never know what's gonna happen in a courtroom)!!!! Karma's a b*tch and I hope he gets his many times over while he rots in jail!

{{{hugs}}} to you and your family.

Thanks ladies!

The jury is right now deciding on whether to put him to death, or life w/o the possibility of parole. As been said, there is a moritoruim (they aren't doing any) on lethal injections right now, so he can spend the rest of his life ON death row. I'll update that as soon as I know.

I'm just glad it's over. (Except for the sentencing, which should come anytime) because life has been in limbo while we all waited.

One of the things that has really bothered me is what HIS family lost too. Daelin was thier blood too, as much as ours. Please keep them in your prayers too.

Just so happens I just got off the phone with my SIL a few seconds ago Ruby!

The jury DOES decide if he gets life without possibility of parole or the death sentence. The closing arguments for this just ended a while ago, and the jury will start deliberating in the morning about it.

The GOOD news is, they allowed testimony (mitigating circumstances it's called) about his past, his drug use, his threatening all his other girlfriends, his criminal past, etc, to be heard, some of it they didn't know about during the trial. His record is quite extensive... going back to when he was a child apparently.

What saddens me is, his family is still standing beside him. I find this persoanlly appalling, since Daelin was their blood too. His Aunt lost her HOME because of his ways, and yet, they testified they would visit him in prison, send him money for his accounts, help him still. Had they not done all this before, the kids would still be alive and Erin wouldn't be scarred like she is. I have a real hard time looking at her now and not hate him. I miss the children so much... and I am beginning to seriously re-think how I felt about the death penatly now. I thought his family would understand the pain he caused ALL of us, and apparently, they don't.

Anyway, they are only having to decide Life w/o or death on the two kids's deaths... although there were 7 counts against him and he was convicted of all 7 (one was lowered from attempted First Degree Murder of Erin to Attempted Voluntary Manslaughter) it's only the charges/conviction of the First Degree Murder (times 2) that they decide on.

Now I'm rambling. I cannot believe his family stated they will stand beside him. They don't have to look at Erin anymore, they don't recall what the kids were like? HOW can they be more concerned with HIS life when three others where taken? (And Erin's WAS taken... she's horribly scarred, to the point that even plastic surgery won't completely take away. She still faces years and years of grafts, not to mention how this haunts her every minute of every day.) I just don't know anymore. I really thought his family would know the same pain mine does.

The good news is, any money he earns while in prison will go immediatly to Erin.

BTW, what I posted yesterday was a mistake, I thought the jury had it yesterday, turned out Mom told me wrong. They were still listening to evidence yesterday and today about stuff to determine if he should be put to death.

Thanks Razor, Keya. The jury didn't come to a recommendation as of today (Friday) so we go into another weekend. I can imagine it must be hard for 12 men and women to decide on whether or not to put someone like this to death. My concern is how they percieve "intent" on what he did. They may think that while, yes, he was responsible for the kid's death, he didn't mean to kill them. See, it's that simple fact that may save his lousy life.

In 11 days, it will have been four years since this happened. FOUR years.

That broke my heart!
This monster (this word is an understatement) needs to get the needle! Or better yet, like another tPFer said: fry him!!!

Speedy, I'm so sorry!!!! I am relieved that he was found guilty. I will pray for your family! Please, extend my best wishes to Erin; I hope she can eventually find the peace in her heart. I know her babies are looking out for her.

I will BergorfBlonde, I'll be seeing her at Christmas. I hope to access this forum through Mom's computer and show her the sweet folks here who posted messages to her and us.

Thank you Bag Angel... I've already felt a sense of peace throughout the family as it now that the trial is over... everyone will go back to their respective homes as soon as the sentencing phase is done... and hopfully we'll regain some sense of normalcy. Of course he'll file his appeals and all that bull, but we know he won't be breathing free air anytime in the next oh, 30 or so years... he'll be in his 70's then.

One board I saw, a man posted there saying he knew Mark personally and that Mark wouldn't survive in prison... said Mark was always a coward when it came to being confronted by men. Which is usally what happens with men who do this kind of thing... they pick on women and children because a man can whup 'em and they know it. Whatever happens is now his own fault... he'd been given way too many chances to straighten out.

Again, thank you everyone... your support over the last month has been fantastic, and I can't tell you how much it's helped me get through this time.
