I absolutely don't believe that she fell asleep. There's no way she could have slept through that unless she was somehow put under which doesn't happen for tattoos as far as I know. There's way too many nerves for her to not feel it. I guess she learned her lesson.....

tattoos hurt - there's no way she fell asleep.

most shops (or ones here in the states) have very strict rules on where they won't tattoo - hands and faces are two of them.

Don't believe this story at all, there is no way you would fall asleep while getting a tattoo done on your face, I think it is remorse on her behalf. My thoughts are that:

I would have thought that the tattooist would have gotten written authorisation first, for the work he was to perform.
I would have thought that the tattooist would have stencilled her face prior to starting.
I would have thought that tattooist would have been moving her head around to do each star which would have woken her.
The needle is painful - though everyone has a different threshold for pain and a different impression of pain - but it is still painful.

Something doesn't quite click.

I also saw this new in front of yahoo's front page.

Apparently she's suing him enough to get it lasered off, but she's keeping the stars on her forehead. And 4 stars (if she had gotten it done) wouldn't have taken that long, how could she fall asleep? Unless she was heavily under some meds or alcohol.

The story I read (Australian news source), was that:

The father was outside eating an icecream while she was having it done
Father agreed to pay to have 3 stars on her face as everyone in their family had tatoos
Tattoo artist said there was no problems until the father freaked out.

That story sounds more reasonable. Maybe father said to the girl she could have 3 stars, she asked for a face full, when father freaked out she claims she fell asleep.

I don't have a tatoo, but from everything I know about them I agree with what everyone else said - how can you full asleep for it?

Also, wouldn't the father have thought it was taking a while and come in to see what was happening?

Yea, something doesn't add up here.. she doesn't seem like a very bright girl. Falling asleep while tattooing your face? No way, I do not believe it.
