Default Hunt for the lost CL!
Quote:
It is often said that a woman can never have too many shoes.

Louise Bawn, however, only desires one. And after losing one half of a pair of beloved £370 designer heels, she is determined to get it back.

The 'inconsolable' 37-year-old has launched a campaign to find the leopard print Christian Louboutin high heel that disappeared during an evening out.

She has studied CCTV footage, distributed fliers and made appeals on the internet and through a local TV programme.

She cannot buy a new pair, since they are no longer being made with the same fabric finish.

Mrs Bawn says the unthinkable happened after she swapped the shoes for a pair of flats on the way home from a comedy club. She believes the missing size five fell out of her handbag.

Mrs Bawn said: 'They were just so special. I just absolutely fell in love with them. When I saw them in the shop I only dreamed of owning them and I was over the moon when my husband got them for me as a present.

'I'm not going to give up without a fight, so I'm willing to do anything.'

Mrs Bawn, a housewife from Bristol, is offering a £50 reward for the safe return of the shoe, which was part of a Christmas present from her kitchen-fitter husband Julian, 43.

Armed with the remaining heel, she has questioned shop owners and passers-by, and even scanned CCTV footage of herself buying food at a take-away.

Louise Bawn owns more than 100 pairs of shoes, although the Christian Louboutin heels were a rare designer pair in her collection.

Mrs Bawn said: 'I love looking good. 'But you could say I am a tiny bit obsessed with shoes. They're my biggest weakness.'

Louise said she changed out of the prized 4.5inch heels because she has a bad back. She said: 'I have a prolapsed disk and walking in high heels is quite painful.

'I knew that I'd be sitting down for the comedy show, so I wore them into the club and then swapped them for the flat-soled ones before I left.'

And although unsuccessful in her search so far, Mrs Bawn says the response has been positive so far - at least from fellow shoe lovers.

'The women I have spoken to have been really sympathetic, but the men don't seem to get it at all,' she said.

I have a question - would you all do the same thing as her?

[Ayla - The HEFTY HEFTY HEFTY under your u/n is killin' me. IDK why I love those Hefty commercials so much. Everytime I say the word hefty, I have to say it three times and in a deep voice. Hahahaha.]

I can certainly understand her retracing her steps and trying to find her missing shoe. I'm kind of surprised she wasn't more careful in packing the shoes since she is so obsessed with them.

I wonder if she has tried to find the version of her shoes on an auction or consignment site?
