Hungry? 150-pound cupcake sets record

It's 151 pounds. It's 1-foot tall, 2-foot wide and has 15 pounds of fudge filling and 60 pounds of yellow icing.

It was made by cakes.com.

The giant cupcake will go to a pig farm. The company decided against cutting up the cupcake and handing out the pieces because some people would get some without any icing.

The mall patrons enjoyed 4,000 smaller cupcakes instead.

A 151 lb cupcake is a great idea in theory, but I was bummed when I saw the pics. That is one ugly cupcake lol!

I love cupcakes but the detail above is making me sick, its abit too much for my liking..

I agree that the cupcake was certainly not very attractive. I guess they were more concerned with size and not aesthetics. Normally, a giant cupcake would be a dream come true for me, but it just wasn't even appealing.

No offense, but at 1 ft tall and 2 ft wide, it seems too easy to beat. It's not really that impressive in size in the grand scheme of record-sized versions of different foods. I can imagine cake shops all over the world that are used to large wedding cakes (5 tiers) easily beating this one, esp. by building and baking pieces of the cupcake separately. Plus, it looks like a thick iced pie rather than a cupcake.

I mean, I LOVE, LOVE cupcakes, but I also about how they look (my favorite places have fabulous presentation) and this one doesn't look that impressive (both size and looks wise). I'm sure it could be beat!
