Does anyone have any pics of what Gucci is saying is a breach of their copyright?
I would love to see pics of some Guess styles that are made to look like Gucci. Hopefully some one will posts some pics, because I am not that into Guess. I don't know what Guess designs Gucci is referring to. |

It used yo be in the 90s Guess brand is a respectable brand, but for the past 3/4 years their cheap quality and designs become very tacky and lost its appeal to me.

I figured it was going to happen eventually.
On a related story, I went to a high school in a semi well-off area and there was a large group of girls (which I was not a part of) who all had these sunglasses with G's on them. I just automatically assumed they were Gucci because of their parents financial status, so I asked for Gucci sunglasses like that for my birthday that year. My parents didn't know which kind I wanted, so they let me pick them out. I didn't find those exact ones but picked out a similar pair I liked. It took about a year, but I later found out that their sunglasses were all by Guess, not Gucci.  But I did wear those sunglasses all the time and still have them. They're pretty classic so I'll never get rid of them. |

honestly, before I joined tPF, I wouldn't have been able to identify a single designer label other than perhaps coach, so all the "inspired" stuff by guess went completely over my head. I just knew that it was cute & still priced out of my range. Most of their stuff is too blingy & over the top for everyday use for me, but occasionally i'd find stuff i liked.
after i joined tPF only then did I start noticing the similarities.... and thought "meh." The quality is not there & if you look twice you can tell it's guess & not a high end designer. i'm not bothered. |

lol, the title made me think that they were actually going to sue over the letter G, which would have been ridiculous since no one can copyright a letter.
Truthfully I don't care.. I don't buy Guess or Gucci. Fashion designers steal from one another all the time.. Guess moved in on a market where they can capitalize on those who can't afford Gucci but like the style. Something only has to be 30% different, right? This thing will probably just drag on and on.. Guess is too big to be brought down and Gucci is too big to give up.

The Guess thing never bother me either. The bags and shoes are cheap by comparison and there is no way you can mistake on for the other. And the person who buys Gucci would not buy Guess. At least Guess isn't being sold in a back alley or hidden store. But, the designs are close enough that I would have to give the win to Gucci on this one.
