Ugh, it's nasty that they would even need to. LOL.

I feel sorry for all of those girls' kids.

They're gonna have sad lives.

What about the boys/fathers who will now have child support payments?

A very sad situation all around.

According to the today show, the principal is claiming that there is no evidence that these girls made such a pact.

I wonder if he is saying that because he is under fire for the now repuation at his school?

After the babies are born, they'll probably feel entitled to public assistance, free educations and all the perks taxpayer money can buy, since I'm sure they have no financial means to support themselves or their babies.

IT NEVER ENDS.

I commend all the hard working single moms out there... but the attitude conveyed by this story is just disturbing on so many levels.... and does such a disservice to women who have found themselves in this circumstance and have done their best to be good parents.
GREAT post. There is a disturbing trend of entitlement among this generation, and the consequences of it are continuing to get worse and worse.

Yes, I read this too. The school officials denying the pact happened

I'm a Lifetime movie girl too!

I really wonder why these girls' (and boys'!!!) parents didn't teach them about the responsibility of having sex and having babies! DH and I are talking about kids, and even at 31 and married, with a good income, I'm terrified! I guess when you're young, you just don't think about things.

I'm getting back on my soapbox about sterilizing everyone until they take a class, pass a test, and get a license to reproduce...

Ita!

I don't think these stupid girls have the slightest idea of what they've gotten themselves into. I waited till I was 27 to have my first child. And let me tell you its hard!!

I think it's just really sad, both for the girls and the babies.

Honestly, I think teenagers have been feeling entitled for a long time. I know I did! Unfortunately, these girls feel entitled to have babies, and I felt entitled to have a car. I honestly think they're all just too immature to understand the consequences of their actions and think a baby will be fun. I mean, yeah, getting pregnant accidentally scared the crap out of me (and still kinda does ), but it's because I understood how fundamentally my life would change and how difficult it would be to raise a child, and I just think these girls don't "get" that. Add that to the fact that many come from broken homes, and the very strong power of a group mentality...and here we are.

Isn't there supposed to be some new reality show where parents let teenagers take care of their babies? Being around a baby for any relatively long period of time always scared me straight!

I believe they knew EXACTLY what they were doing...I believe they got pregnant on purpose, and unfortunately they will suffer the repercussions.
