Regardless of the reason why she was bullied, the point is that it was done to the extent that she committed suicide. It is not necessarily whether someone is strong or not. Different people experience different levels of bullying depending on their situation.

This is so heartbreaking. People are so mean...they will taunt you for being too ugly, too pretty, or even too normal. Good grief, when will it end? I pray her family will find comfort and the poor girl rest in peace.

When I see these stories, I wonder what is so different about bullying today compared to when I was a kid. I was a frequent target of bullies because I was the chubby girl and had several other friends in the same boat (the freaks and geeks as they were called). But, we all came out of it okay.

Are bullies just meaner than they were 30 years ago? Are children less mentally tough? I see studies about how bullies affect mental stability, but how about a study on the progression of bully behavior over the past 50 years?

Bullied because she was pretty? Whenever anyone was mean to me at school my parents told me it was because I was pretty. I always thought that they were just trying to make me feel better.

Is this mother sure that that is why the kids were taunting her?

Very sad story.

i can relate to this on some level...i used to be teased because I was "too pretty"...in those exact words...people didn't like me because of my "pretty" eyes (they're a hazel green)...and because I used to have long hair...it got worse when I curled it so I had long pretty curled hair...also because I was a cheerleader and popular...the list went on and on...and then in highschool when I got a coach and dooney...i was too rich...I have always been skinny @ 86 lbs and people didn't like me because of that... never really paid much attention because I was used to it my whole life...I just ignored it

true story...i was about 6 and my mom took me to a local elementary school playground to play...me and this little girl started playing together...and her friend just stopped playing with us...when her friend asked her why she said it was because I had "pretty eyes"...i wonder how that girl turned out

trust me...this pretty thing is overrated...i hate it and I think I'm ugly because of it...who really knows...but even though they are words...they hurt...i never contemplated suicide but it was always very bothersome

I hate reading stories like this. Kids can be so cruel these days.
