How very sad but if the neighbours were aware of the little girls plight why didn't they do something about it? I would think that they would have to know something wasn't right.

I am very hopeful that in this case the girl might be able to regain "normal" human traits like speech. After a child reaches a certain age, it becomes much more difficult for them ever to learn speech if they've never or rarely been exposed to it. They can comprehend, but not actually speak because that part of the brain just was not stimulated early enough. But I think 3 is still younge enough that there is more hope for this child regaining normal function than for an older child,
What a horrible situation, though. I just cannot believe that animals make better parents than humans (to other humans!) in so many cases. |

I feel so bad for the little girl, and I can't understand that if the neighbors knew about her, why didn't they report the mother to the proper authorities?

Thats so sad! Im glad they found her early, though. Hopefully the behavior can be reversed.
