Wow.

I'd say it's a close match. DNA will prove it of course, but the composite is very close.

Update: The father and grandmother of the little girl who is thought to be Baby Grace tell their story. The mother of the child claims a social worker came to her home and demanded the child, and she hasn't seen her since. She loved to Texas to be with a man she met on the Internet. Video clip at the link.

Help identify Baby Grace
Baby Grace was 2-3 years old, had blond hair reaching to the middle of her back, was 32-34 inches tall and 25-30 pounds.

She was wearing a matching pink top and skirt. The top was a pullover with three-quarter length sleeves and the bottom was a broom skirt. She wore panties with a Disney label inside and a figure that appeared to be a princess on the outside.

She wore white tennis shoes, size 8½, with Velcro closures and purple flowers with LED lights.

Information about the Baby Grace investigation is available on the FBI Web site.

Anyone with information about her identity should phone the Sheriffs Department at 409-766-222, 866-248-8477 any FBI office or any Crime Stoppers. The Houston Crime Stoppers number is 713-222-TIPS.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GALVESTON — Sheryl Sawyers is hoping that DNA testing will show that her 2-year-old granddaughter is not Baby Grace, the blond girl whose body was discovered in a plastic container on a sand bar in West Galveston Bay.

Sawyers' granddaughter, Riley Ann Sawyers, is one of eight missing children matching the description of Baby Grace whose families have been asked to provide DNA samples.

Her hope is that the child's mother, Kimberly Zeigler of Spring, is hiding her. "I'm absolutely hoping that's what it is, that they have her hidden somewhere," said Sawyers, 47, a nurse interviewed by phone Friday from her home in Mentor, Ohio.

Sawyers said her family hasn't seen or spoken to Riley since June. She said Galveston County officials have told her that Zeigler told them someone claiming to be an Ohio child welfare worker took Riley from her home in Spring.

Neither Zeigler, 19, nor her husband, Royce, could be reached for comment Friday. The couple were married in June, records show.

Galveston County sheriff's spokesman Major Ray Tuttoilmondo could not be reached for comment, but he has said that investigators are giving no greater weight to the Sawyers' case than any of the other cases they have chosen to investigate more closely.

Robert Sawyers, Riley's father, said Mentor police took swabs from inside his cheeks on Tuesday, but had to do it again Wednesday because they didn't do it properly the first time.

Like his mother, Robert Sawyers hopes his DNA will not match Baby Grace's. "I think she might be, but I'm hoping she's not," Robert Sawyers said. "The picture I have and the picture of Baby Grace is so similar it kind of scares me."

The DNA results from Baby Grace, whose body was discovered by a fisherman Oct. 29, were expected early next week. Tuttoilmondo has said that it takes from two to three weeks to obtain DNA results.

Sheryl Sawyers gave this account of how her granddaughter came to Texas:

Riley's mother, then using her maiden name, Kimberly Trenor, never married Riley's father.

Kimberly Trenor, who turned 19 in August, was 16 when she gave birth and moved in with the Sawyers. "I treated her like my daughter," Sheryl Sawyers said.

Trenor was 18 when she and Riley moved into her own house in May this year.

She met Royce Zeigler on the Internet while playing an online game, World of Warcraft. They spoke for hours on the phone and Zeigler sent her a diamond necklace.

Zeigler told her he was 26, a project manager for an oil company, who traveled the country, according to Sheryl Sawyers.

Sheryl Sawyers disapproved, causing a rift in their relationship. "I said, if you want to be foolish with your own life, that's one thing, but think about your 2-year-old daughter."

The Sawyers last saw Riley and her mother in an Ohio courtroom June 6, in a hearing to enforce Robert Sawyers' visitation rights. They were unaware that Kimberly Trenor and Royce Clyde Zeigler II were already married. They married June 1, records show.

The Sawyers discovered through their attorney in July that Riley's mother was living in Texas.

After Baby Grace's body was discovered last month, Sheryl Sawyers saw an artist's rendering on the Internet and phoned the Galveston Sheriff's Department.

"Could somebody go check to see that she's OK?" she asked. "Then I get the call saying that she says she doesn't have the baby."

Sheryl Sawyers doesn't believe that an Ohio protective services official took Riley from her mother. "The story just doesn't make sense," she said.

There are more articles along the same lines as the one above, ^, but they pretty much all say the same thing. The mother, Kimberly, swears a Social Worker from Ohio came to Texas and demanded the baby. Authorities say there is no record of such a transfer. I think the mother and her new husband know what happened.

My heart is breaking. She's such a beautiful baby. There is a lot of pictures of Riley on the 'Net now, google "Baby Grace IDed?" and you can see them.

This is shocking! I hope they find what happened & who she really is!
Social services story sounds so far fetched as if you would hand over a child without being sure who was taking her!

I betcha diamonds to buttons that the guy she moved to Texas to be with, or even Kimberly herself, killed that little girl and stuffed her into the container. Then she made up the Social Service worker story.

What gets me is it sounds like the mother just didn't care. She didn't bother to go back to Ohio to see where her child ended up, nor could she show paperwork for the child's release to the mystery person who took the child.

Nope, I betcha this is a case of murder. And the Momma knows who did it.

Mom of girl who may be Baby Grace Arrested

GALVESTON — Galveston County sheriff's deputies have arrested the mother of a 2-year-old girl tentatively identified as Baby Grace, whose body was discovered in a plastic box on a sand bar in West Galveston Bay.

Kimberly Dawn Trenor, 19, and her husband, Royce Clyde Zeigler II, 24, both of Spring, are charged with injury to a child and tampering with evidence, said Galveston County Sheriff's Office spokesman Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo.

"Investigators believe Baby Grace is actually 2-year-old Riley Ann Sawyers," Trenor's daughter, the sheriff's office said in a statement issued today. "They have not yet made a positive identification as DNA analysis is still in process."
Trenor and Zeigler were being held in the Galveston County Jail on $350,000 bail following their arrest Saturday.

The arrests and search of the couple's home were the result of an investigation stemming from a Nov. 7 tip, the statement said.
Sheriff's detectives and FBI agents were interviewing several people today as part of the investigation, according to the statement.
"There is still a tremendous amount of investigation that needs to be done," Tuttoilmondo said.

Riley was one of eight missing children whose families were asked to provide DNA samples last week.
Riley's father, Robert Sawyers, of Mentor, Ohio, gave DNA samples Wednesday that will be matched with Baby Grace's DNA. Tuttoilmondo declined to say whether Trenor gave DNA samples.

Baby's Grace's DNA results were expected to be ready early this week, but it will take two to three weeks to analyze the samples from Sawyers, Tuttoilmondo has said.
Kimberly Trenor's father, Randolph Trenor of Mentor, Ohio, doubted that his daughter could have harmed her child. "She's not the type of person who would do something like that." Trenor said.

A relative at the Mentor, Ohio, home of Riley's grandmother, Sheryl Sawyers, said the family had been advised by the FBI not to speak with the media and referred all questions to an attorney, who did not immediately return calls.
Robert Sawyers also did not immediately return phone calls.

In an interview last week, Sheryl Sawyers, 47, said she phoned investigators after seeing an artist's sketch of Baby Grace on the Internet soon after the body was discovered Oct. 29.

Kimberly Trenor told investigators that an Ohio protective services official had taken the child, according to Sheryl Sawyers. The grandmother said she did not believe that an Ohio official would travel to Texas, where they have no juridiction.
Texas CPS spokeswoman Gwen Carter said the agency has no records of any interaction with Trenor, Zeigler or any complaints at their address.

"But it sounds like the child disappeared just after moving here and we don't believe that there are any other children in the family," Carter said.
Sheryl Sawyers said she last saw Kimberly Trenor on June 6 at an Ohio hearing to enforce visitation rights for her son, Robert Sawyers.

They were unaware then that Trenor had married Zeigler on June 1 and moved to Texas.
Kimberly Trenor, who turned 19 in August, was 16 when she gave birth to Riley and moved in with the Sawyers. "I treated her like my daughter," Sheryl Sawyers said.
Trenor was 18 when she and Riley moved into her own house in May this year, Sheryl Sawyers said.

After moving into the house in Mentor, Trenor met Zeigler on the Internet while playing an online game, World of Warcraft, Sheryl Sawyers said. They spoke for hours on the phone and Zeigler sent her a diamond necklace.
Zeigler told her that he was a project manager for Shell Oil who traveled around the country, according to Sheryl Sawyers.

Sheryl Sawyers disapproved of the Internet romance, causing a rift in her relationship with Trenor. "I said, if you want to be foolish with your own life, that's one thing, but think about your 2-year-old daughter."

A court order prevented Trenor and Robert Sawyers from being together, Sheryl Sawyers said, so she was designated to pick up Riley on her son's visitation days. She said Trenor never made Riley available for visitation.
The Sawyers discovered through their attorney in July that Riley's mother was living in Texas.

After Baby Grace's body was discovered last month, Sheryl Sawyers saw an artist's rendering on the Internet and phoned the Galveston County Sheriff's Office.
"Could somebody go check to see and that she's OK?" she asked. "Then I get the call saying that she says she doesn't have the baby."
The FBI last week offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the identity of Baby Grace. Normally rewards are only offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

The story of Baby Grace tugged at the hearts of law enforcement officers and the community. Texas EquuSearch erected a 4-foot wooden cross Nov. 4 near the site where the body was found bearing the words, "In loving Memory of Baby Grace."

I saw some more on one of the local news stations. They are still waiting for the DNA test, but there is one local station already reporting that the composite drawing is that of Riley.
