This is so sad. My mom is sick and can't get insurance because she is sick and needs to see specialists. The stress of everything is taking years off her life. I pray everyday that by some miracle that she can get insurance. I hate the way things are getting in our country.

Hopefully one day sick people won't have to die because others want to make money.

I think that what these insurance companies are doing is completely wrong, but I don't think Universal healthcare is the answer. The quality and availability of treatment suffers exponentially. If you've talked to people who have lived for any decent amount of time under both systems (and actually had to use them), the vast majority agree that socialized systems are not the utopias they are made out to be.

This is reprehensible and disgusting! I'm hoping that this practice will be stopped soon by any type of healthcare reform that is passed.

Disgusting. and it happens at business company levels too. my GF worked (was laid off) from a major insurance company. she is close to 60 and she has said that most of the people that they cut back were all older people (more health issues, etc. and family coverage) They only want the young who almost never need to file a claim.
Totally reprehensible.
