How tragic, all these plane crashes.

Theres gotta be another way. We cannot afford to lose any more lives.

Unfortunately, middle-eastern airlines have a reputation for their bad maintenance and pilots. I don't see it changing anytime soon- it's been like this for years, even though they keep having crashes.

These large plane crashes are the ones that are being reported with such concentration. I don't think it's a huge deal at all considering that in the U.S. alone, the equivalent of a large plane load of people die each day due to automobile accidents; that's 40,000 people dead b/c of automobile accidents per year in the U.S. alone. Of course though, no one seems to fear driving like they do the metro train or the plane even though the latter two are virtually nothing in comparison in terms of deaths and accidents in general. I'd happily hop on a plane or metro train any day due to the stats, but I always take a long, drawn out breath everytime I'm out on the road.

i agree. the us has one of the highest if not the highest level of airline safety in the world and there are plenty more outside the country...british airlines, El Al, Israel’s national airline is also one of the safests as is qantas.

you still have a higher chance of dieing each day in a car crash than you do on a flight. however, it still does not stop me from taking a xanax before each flight and saying a little prayer.

it's really the magnitude of it all that scares the shyt out of people. the huge bird tumbling to it's death and blowing up upon impact. people knowing what's about to happen to them in those last 30 seconds of life. yeah a xanax helps a lot!
