Statutory rape does not exist in their culture. The article indicates that it does exist in the government, but it does not seem like he will be prosecuted.

I agree that a 19 year old should not be engaged in sexual relations with an 11 year old, but I also realize that I am not in their shoes and do know what they consider normal.

Mmm, i do not see how their culture could be different, there is a law in the country and the age of consent is 14, so this guy should be prosecuted. Besides Bulgaria is part of the EU and has to respect the international treaties. They also have a no discrimination law, and it should work for good and bad IMO (I mean, if you are not discriminated for a good thing like getting a job or a house, neither you should for another like respecting the law and being punished if you don’t)

In his defense, that girl doesn’t look near 11 years old, actually I kind of doubt she really is 11. Gypsies many times are not registered and kids are raised in groups by older kids, maybe they just lost track or are confusing her…

Anyway ages of consent don't apply after people get married so, there is no point on that anymore

a part of me feels like they might be doing this for publicity. that is the MOST mature looking 11 year old i've ever seen. her facial structure makes her look like 18 or 20.

wow just wow. she really doesnt look 11 though. I would say she is at least 14 or 15. definitely looks mature for her age.

Maybe this sentiment should be shared with all these idiots who run to other countries to adopt a child just so they can me like Angelina and Madonna?
