This is so true:

Forget spontaneity; as soon as we started trying to conceive, sex revolved around Carolyn's ovulation.

I didn't get a chance to read the whole thing...

My thoughts:
-Men don't know how to deal with this any better than we do but at least we can talk about it with friends in similiar situtations or on forums like this
-There needs to be a balance to keep from becoming obsessive about the whole process (I am often challenged by this).
-Appreciate your husband as the person you married, not as the father of your future children, that objectifies him and creates distance.
-Having parents pay for Infertility treatment is a sticky situation.

On another note, I was watching an Oprah re-run w/Dr. Oz and an audience full of men and there was this one guy who BROKE HIS PENIS b/c his wife was demanding they BD b/c they were TTC. Well he wanted to go fishing so he just wanted to get it over with and "make his deposit" and POP.... he broke the thing !! He had an operation to have it fixed and today he has 2 children, but the lesson I took from this was, "Don't force your husband to BD or he could break his penis!!!".

Broke what?

I think it's a "manhood" thing not to discuss infertility issues with other men.

I agree... I was talking to a friend last night who knew of a couple that was having a hard time getting pregnant and the women had confided in her they went through many cycles of IVF, after trying IUI, drug, etc. When they were announcing their pregnancy they man says to my friends DH, "We weren't really trying" ...

Wow!!!!!! "We weren't really trying......."

A few of my good friends know we were trying. When I finally got pregnant, I told the ladies who had been trying that it took us 7 months. I don't know what DH tells people. I know guys don't about those much.
