Default TTC with irregular periods
Hi Ladies,
I miscarried in August of last year and didn't know when I would be ready to try again. I've been keeping a record of my cycle since my D&C. We started trying again, and I'm beginning to get frustrated. My cycle was pretty good after the D&C. I was exactly 30 days for 3 months straight (Nov, Dec, & Jan). Between February and March, I was on a 39 day cycle. Has anyone ever experience this? Is my period suppose to go back to 30 days now? Or am I on a 39 day cycle now? I'm thinking m period was off that month because I went to vegas one weekend and was out late. I haven't started my period for this month and it's been 41 days. I don't want to get my hopes up. I know I should take a test, but I'm very nervous. I just want to know if cycles go back to normal after an off month. Because if it does, it would mean I'm 11 days late. Thank you!

hi. have you tested?

After my D&C my AFs were as regular as they were going to get. I honestly can't recall, the CDs I think i went through two cycles then I was placed on Clomid since that was the plan our OB had chosen prior to MC. I'm guessing stress and other factors are making you late... However, I'm hoping and dusting for you.

no, I haven't tested yet. I'm too scared. LOL! I'm scared of disppointment. A couple of days ago I had some pinkish discharge. It was more like white discharge with pinkish swirls in it. It lasted for 2 days and went away. And for some strange reason, I have major insomnia. I'd wake up in the middle of the night, and can't go back to sleep. I try to go back to sleep, but end up waking every hour or so. Then i get tired in the middle of the day from lack of sleep. It's very wierd. My last pregnancy, I was dead tired all the time. DH thinks that I might be stressed or thinking about if I'm pregnant or not too much. I don't want to get my hopes up. I was just not going to test and wait it out till AF comes. I hate this insomnia though. I've never had it before. Maybe if I take the HPT, I might be able to get some sleep.

well, HPT's may place your mind at ease. not to play with your emotions, but the pink swirls sounds like implantation bleeding. I had that - for sure I thought AF was coming, but didn't. lots of luck to you. I hope you get some rest soon.

i had the same situation as you.. i miscarried and had the d&c... my cycles after that went from 28 - 39 days! it changed almost every month which made it hard to concieve since i didn't really know when o day was... what i did hate was when a long month came after a short month. i had a few instances when i expected my period on day 28 but af didn't come until day 39! that was 11 days of pure torture! i spent hundreds of $$ during those months coz even though i got a negative, i kept thinking it's just coz it ws early! the price of SOME peace of mind...

just give it a try naturally.. after a few months without much luck, try using those ovulation kits so you can time your bd.

good luck :)

Though I have been regular I have been getting my period every 21 days so I know I haven't been ovulating. I have tested many many times and no ovulation since December. On Friday I tested because I have had severe breast tenderness for the past few days and FINALLY I tested positive for ovulation! Unfortunately my husband was away on business but hopefully from now on things will go smoothly! Good luck to everyone!

I'm late to the thread, but my periods were fairly irregular during TTC too, having just come off the Pill. The Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor worked for us our 2nd month using it. I can't recommend it enough!

As a side note, we weren't TTC for long - just 4 or 5 months. But we really wanted a boy, and the fertility monitor allowed us to use the Shettles method more easily, since ovulation timing is really important for that. Whether it was due to Dr. Shettles' advice or just luck of the draw, we're expecting our baby boy!

My cycles are too short--about 20 days. So I'm on clomid now. We'll see how that goes.
